In day two action at the Modesto Tournament, D.J. Ward had 25 points as Alameda (2-5) picked up a 96-78 win over the Simpson JV.

In other action, David Rico had 14 points and Tommy Nuno added 10 points and 8 rebounds as 2nd ranked Fresno (6-2) advanced to the quarter finals with a 70-57 win over Lassen (2-8). Unwana Ekiko had 18 points and Kameron Brandon added 11 points in the loss for the Cougars. Fresno will face Copper Mountain in the quarter finals tomorrow while Yuba will face Lassen in the consolation bracket.

In another first round match up, Jamarlin Jackson had 25 points and Deshaunte Woods added 24 points as Mendocino (5-1) won their fifth straight game with 90-84 win over the College of the Divinity. Mendocino will face 13th ranked Shasta tomorrow in the quarterfinals.

In the 5pm game, Kellen Gerig had 26 points as 13th ranked Shasta (7-3) won their sixth game in a row with a 87-79 victory over 11th ranked Sacramento (6-4). Troy Owens had 18 points in the loss for the Panthers. Shasta will take on Mendocino tomorrow in quarter final action and Sacramento will face the University of Divinity in the consolation bracket.

In other first round action, J.J. Overton had 15 points and Shawn Stith added 13 points as 10th ranked Saddleback (6-4) advanced to the quarterfinals with a 74-58 win over Reedley (2-5). Hassan Bolden and Cohen Blythe each had 12 points in the loss for the Tigers.

In the night cap, Cuesta (3-6) ended a five game losing streak with a 73-69 win over Cosumnes River (4-5). Jordan Roberson had 17 points and Derajaee Austin added 13 points in the loss for the Hawks. Saddleback will face Cuesta tomorrow and Cosumnes River will face Reedley in the consolation bracket.

J.T. Branch had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Goose Persin added 15 points and 4 assists as 9th ranked Las Positas (8-3) picked up a 74-59 victory over Hartnell (6-2) in non conference action on Wednesday night.

Torrance, CA – El Camino 110 Los Angeles Pierce 109

Tristan Egans had 21 points and 5 rebounds and Justin Reyes added 15 points as El Camino (3-7)slipped past Los Angeles Pierce 110-109 in non conference action on Wednesday night. Rueben Gonzalez had 24 points and Chance Cole added 22 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for Los Angeles Pierce (3-6).

Weed, CA – Siskiyous 83 Cabrillo 72

Linton Acliese had 32 points and Tynan Velesquez added 18 points as Cabrillo (5-5) beat Siskiyous 83-72 on the road. Jonny Lopez had 20 points and Dwayne McClendon added 19 points in the loss for Siskiyous (0-9).
