Wednesday night hoops in Southern California

Three games were on the agenda on a Wednesday night of hoops in Southern California.

Chula Vista, CA – (6) Saddleback 89 (15) Southwestern 65

In a battle of ranked teams in Southern California, Shawn Stith had 20 points and Anthony Naimie added 10 points as 6th ranked Saddleback (3-1) crushed 15th ranked Southwestern 89-65 on the road. Quincey Ferebee had 16 points in the loss and was the only Southwestern (2-2) player in double figures against the Gauchos.

Fullerton Tournament Day One

Fullerton, CA – (14) Mt. San Jacinto 69 College of the Canyons 65

In first round action in the Fullerton Tournament, Davon Sanders had 18 points and 6 rebounds and C.J. Hyderabad added 14 points and 5 rebounds as 14th ranked Mt. San Jacinto (2-2) picked up a 69-65 win over unranked Canyons (1-2) to move into the semi finals of the Fullerton Tournament. Michael Kalu had 17 points and 4 rebounds and Jacob Linley added 15 points in the loss for Canyons. Mt. San Jacinto will next face 6th ranked Fullerton in the semi finals. Canyons will next take on Chaffey in the consolation bracket.

Fullreton, CA – (6) Fullerton 52 Chaffey 48

In the second game of the night, Jason Richardson had 10 points and Khalil Stevenson added 10 points and 5 rebounds as 6th ranked Fullerton (3-1) slipped past Chaffey 52-48 to move into the semi finals. Andy Torices had 11 points and Mam Ayuel added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for Chaffey (1-3). Fullerton will next face off against Mt. San Jacinto and Chaffey will take on Canyons in the consolation bracket.
