Shasta picks up huge win against Butte

Oroville, CA – (12) Shasta 66 (3) Butte 62

12th ranked Shasta (16-9, 7-1) won their fifth straight game and move into a 1/2 game lead in first place with a 66-62 win over 3rd ranked Butte (19-4, 6-1). Dorae Elliott had 20 points and Carlos Costa added 14 points in the loss for Butte.

Susanville, CA – Feather River 92 Lassen 63

Gerard Andrus had 31 points and Calvin Fletcher added 15 points as Feather River (16-8, 5-2) cruised past Lassen 92-63 on the road in conference action on Saturday afternoon. Unwana Ekiko had 16 points and Kameron Brandon added 14 points in the loss for Lassen (6-14, 2-5).

Eureka, CA – Redwoods 80 Siskiyous 76

Cole Maldanado had 22 points and 4 rebounds and Dunnell Stafford added 17 points and 9 rebounds as Redwoods (3-18, 1-6) picked up a 80-78 win over Siskiyous (3-20, 1-7). Dwayne McClendon had 24 points and Justin Gaines added 21 points in the loss for the Eagles.

Western State South Conference

Woodland Hills, CA – Los Angeles Pierce 76 Bakersfield 72

Chance Cole had 18 points and Randle Lacey added 17 points and 7 rebounds as Los Angeles Pierce (9-14, 4-1) moved into sole possession of first place with a 76-72 win over Bakersfield (12-11, 3-2).

Santa Monica, CA – West Los Angeles 110 Santa Monica 90

Trevor Blackmon had 18 points and Corey Jackson added 17 points and 5 steals as West Los Angeles (16-9, 3-2) stayed in the Western State South Conference race with a 110-90 win over Santa Monica (3-18, 0-5). Michael Fry had 26 points and 16 rebounds and Ernie Valdez added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the loss for the Corsairs.

Central Valley Conference

Fresno, CA – (2) Fresno 82 (8) Columbia 62

Tommy Nuno had 15 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds and Carl Snyder added 12 points as 2nd ranked Fresno (21-4, 9-1) moved back into sole possession of first place after crushing past 8th ranked Columbia 82-62 at home on Saturday evening. Maurice Woods had 17 points and Al Burge added 15 points in the loss for Columbia (14-6, 8-2).

Visalia, CA – (11) Sequoias 88 Merced 48

Isaiah Johnson made six three pointers and had 25 points and Austin Armstead added 17 points and 5 rebounds as 11th ranked Sequoias (16-8, 6-4) cruised past Merced 88-48 to stay in sole possession of fourth place. Chris Roberson had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Mike Harris added 11 points in the loss for Merced (3-19, 1-9).

Porterville, CA – (9) West Hills 87 Porterville 68

Ricardo Time had 21 points and 4 assists, and Winder Joseph and Lloyd Hanna each had 15 points as 9th ranked West Hills (17-4, 8-2) moved back into a tie for second place with a 87-68 victory over Porterville (7-14, 2-8). Carlos Angel made seven three pointers and had a game high of 30 points and Jackson Cascio added 15 points in the loss for the Pirates.

Reedley, CA – Reedley 96 Cerro Coso 84

Hassan Bolden had 26 points and Alredo Jimenez added 26 points as Reedley (8-14, 4-6) picked up a 96-84 home win against Cerro Coso (6-15, 2-8). Cameron Redd had 24 points and Kanoia Matthews added 20 points in the loss for the Coyotes.

Shane Carney had 31 points and 7 assists and Spirit Ricks added 24 points and 11 rebounds as Allan Hancock (18-8, 5-1) picked up a key victory and moved into a tie for first place with a 96-94 overtime win over 12th ranked Ventura (17-8, 5-1). Isiah Reyes had 29 points and 5 rebounds and Jacob Alonzo added 27 points in the loss for the Pirates.

Oxnard, CA – Moorpark 89 Oxnard 83

Moorpark (10-13, 3-3) picked up a 89-83 win on the road against Oxnard (4-11, 2-4) on Saturday afternoon. Jakari McClain had 27 points and Al Stubbs added 16 points in the loss for the Condors.
