San Francisco Tip-Off Tournament
In the game of the night, Austin McCullough scored 22 points and Malcolm Johnson added 15 points as top ranked San Francisco (2-0) won the battle of the Rams in an early season showdown with a 79-70 win over 2nd ranked Fresno (1-1). Georgie Dancer scored a game high of 24 points and David Rico and Ethan Richardson both added 11 points in the loss for Fresno.
In other semi final action, Arizona Western cruised past 6th ranked Santa Rosa 91-62 to move into the finals of the tournament tomorrow. Sophomore Skylar Chavez led the Bearcubs with 19 points in the loss or Santa Rosa (1-1). Arizona Western will face off against San Francisco tomorrow while Santa Rosa will face Fresno in the third place game.
In the consolation bracket, Alameda (1-1) picked up their first win of the season as the Cougars picked up a 73-61 win over Napa Valley (0-2). Julian Taylor had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Donquail Bishop added 14 points in the win for the Cougars. Tylor Gerrad had 16 points and Braxton Adderly added 11 points in the loss for the Storm.
In the second game of the consolation bracket, Brandon Recek had a game high of 26 points and Cornell Greenwood added 20 points and 11 rebounds as 7th ranked Yuba (1-1) picked up their first win of the season with a 72-63 win over Mt. San Antonio (0-2).
Don Gehler Memorial Day #3
In the championship game of the Don Gehler Memorial Tournament, Blake Seits scored 27 points and had 9 rebounds and Ryan Hagood added 19 points and 9 rebounds as San Diego Miramar (3-0) overcame a eight point halftime deficit and beat 15th ranked Santa Monica 85-79. Daisone Hughes had 18 points and 4 rebounds and Daniel Zahabian added 15 points in the loss for Santa Monica (2-1).
In the 3rd place game, Quincy Brown had 14 points and 4 rebounds and Javon Nutter added 12 points and 8 rebounds as Imperial Valley (2-1) is taking home the 3rd place trophy with a 68-64 win over Palomar (1-2). Jamario Harris had 24 points and 5 rebounds and Jacob Carmago added 11 points in the loss for the Comets.
In the consolation championship game, Jose Serrano had 23 points and 7 rebounds, and Nikko Paranada added 20 points and 7 rebounds as 9th ranked Southwestern (2-1) cruised past Rio Hondo 95-79 to bring home the consolation bracket championship. Uziel Felix had 25 points and 7 rebounds and Jonathan Martinez added 20 points and 4 reboudns in the loss for Rio Hondo (1-2).
In the consolation bracket at the Miramar Tournament, Thomas Donati had 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Marcus Foster made four three pointers as MiraCosta (1-2) picked up their first win of the season with a 87-56 win over Cuyamaca (0-3). Micah Porter had 11 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for the Coyotes.
In San Luis Obispo, David Thompson scored 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, and Luka Filipovic added 12 points and 12 rebounds as 4th ranked Mt. San Jacinto (1-0) picked up a 71-65 win over 4th ranked Sequoias (0-1). Mike Johnson had 21 points and 7 rebounds and T.J. Givance added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for the Giants.
In the second game of the day, Alexandre Fanchini had 22 points and 5 reboudns and Alexander Karras added 20 points as Cuesta (1-0) slipped past Cuesta 70-69 over West Hills-Coalinga (0-1). Ricardo Time had 24 points and 6 rebounds and Anthony Johnson added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Falcons.
In the championship game, Robby Robinson had 25 points and 11 rebounds and Kai Huntsberry added 18 points and 4 rebounds as 7th ranked San Diego (2-0) cruised past 3rd ranked Citrus 85-74 to win the championship game at the Knights Invitational. Josh Caston had 17 points and Psalm Maduakor added 15 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for Citrus (1-1).
In the 3rd place game, Leonard Stallings made six three pointers and had 30 points an 6 rebounds and Malik Skillern added 25 points and 5 assists as Orange Coast (1-1) picked up a 97-87 win over Barstow (0-2). Greg Walter had 23 points and 20 rebounds and Greg Dishman added 18 points in the loss for the Vikings.
Tony Costello Tournament Day #3
In the final day of the tournament, 15th ranked Canada (3-0) finished the weekend undefeated with a 84-52 win against Siskiyous (0-3). Alex Velasquez had 14 points in the loss for the Eagles.
In other action, Eric Boose had 19 points and Noah Zeppi added 15 points as Butte (2-1) picked up a 68-56 win over Sacramento (1-2) to close out their weekend. Ephram Conner and Kyle Williams each had 12 points for the Panthers in the loss.
In the final game of the day, Michael Hayes had 18 points and John Ketchel added 17 points as 5th ranked Las Positas (3-0) overcame a 7 point halftime deficit and pick up a 74-70 win over Contra Costa (1-2). Evan Thompson had 24 points and 4 rebounds and Eric Jones added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Comets.
Cabrillo Tip Off
In Aptos, Trey Whitley made 3 three pointers and had 18 points and Avery Edwards added 12 points as 8th ranked Cabrillo (1-0) picked up an opening victory with a 66-51 win over Shasta (0-1).
In other action, Jimmy Beltz had 16 points and Cameron Pieters added 13 points as 10th ranked San Joaquin Delta (1-0) cruised past Redwoods 83-42 to win their season opener. Tristen Bryant had 12 points and Reggie Cousart added 9 points in the loss for Redwoods (0-1).
Frank Garcia Tip-Off Tournament Day #3
In the final day at the Frank Garcia Tip-Off Tournament, D’Shaun Barrett made four three pointers and had 14 points and Kenny Bates added 10 points and 6 rebounds as 13th ranked Copper Mountain (1-2) picked up thier first win of the season cruising past Grossmont 61-42 on Saturday afternoon. Jabbar Wade had 13 points and Josh Burton added 10 points and 5 rebounds for Grossmont (0-3) in the loss.
In other action in Palm Desert, Roman Silva was 13 of 16 from the field an had a game high of 28 points and 13 rebounds and Nathan Pendarvis added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists as 8th ranked San Bernardino (3-0) stayed undefeated with a 95-82 win over 14th ranked West Los Angeles (2-1). Mark Carter had 15 points and 9 rebounds, and Dwight Murray added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Wildcats.
In the finale of the tournament, Sam Skipper scored 15 points and added 5 assists and Riley Welch added 13 points and 8 assists and Gunnar Mogolis hit a game winning lay up as Desert (2-1) edged Victor Valley 70-68 in Saturday action. Alton Thompson had 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Jamain Owens added 13 points in the loss for Victor Valley (1-2).
Clash at Canyons
In the championship game, Babacar Thiombane had 15 points and 7 rebounds and Malik Muhammad added 13 points and 6 rebounds as top ranked East Los Angeles (2-0) crushed Glendale 104-69 to bring home the championship at the Clash at Canyons. Three other Huskies scored in double figures. Isaac Etter had 19 points and Andre Banton added 16 points in the loss for Glendale (1-1).
In the consolation final, Jude Agbasi had 29 points and 7 rebounds, and Leonard Wilson added 11 points and 3 rebounds as Canyons (1-1) picked up the consolation championship with a 82-70 win over Oxnard (0-2). Kivaris Myricks led the Condors with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals and Al Stubbs added 12 points and 5 assists in the loss for Oxnard.
San Jose Tip Off Day #3
In San Jose, Merced (2-1) picked up a 75-57 win over Monterey (1-2) to pick up their second win of the weekend. Talili Leaea had 18 points and 6 rebounds and Anthony Dennis added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Lobos.
In other action, Drew Rippingham had a game high of 30 points and Tarren Storey-Way added 13 points as Lassen (3-0) remained unbeaten with a 68-64 win over Foothill (1-2). Jamar Giddis, Myles Nunes and Devon Lee-Hyde all had 14 points in the loss for the Owls.
In the third game of the day, 3rd ranked Gavilan appear to have found their stride in the last day as the Rams crushed Chabot 73-41 to end the three day event undefeated with a 3-0 record. Jordan Cinecus had 15 points and Patrick Pancho added 10 points in the loss for Chabot (1-2).
In the final game of the tournament, 11th ranked Cosumnes River (1-2) cruised past San Jose 86-61. Yakuba Mansaray had 18 points and Jose Bermudez added 11 points in the loss for San Jose (0-3).
In the first game of the night in Rocklin, Jamal Ellick had 23 points and Jacoby Simon added 14 points as 14th ranked Feather River (1-0) picked up thier first win of the season with a 80-70 victory over Solano (0-1). Jordan Adams had 26 points and Isaiah Duplechan added 16 points in the loss for the Falcons.
In the later game, 12th ranked West Valley (1-0) cruised past Sierra 79-52 in the Wolverines season opener. Sierra moves to 0-1 with the season opening loss.
We Play Hard Tournament Day #3
In the third and final day in Ventura, Maurice Tutt had 11 points and 6 rebounds, and Rico Tate added 9 points as 11th ranked Riverside (3-0) stayed unbeaten with a 64-61 win over Pasadena (1-2). Chris Blount had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Chris Odionu added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Lancers.
In other action, Julian Payton had 20 points and 7 rebounds, and Jalen Riley added 17 points and 6 assist as Antelope Valley (2-1) slipped past Ventura 69-63 on the final day of the tournament. Timothy Turner had 20 points and Tone Patton added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for Ventura (1-2).
The last game of the day featured Moorpark against Los Angeles Valley as the the Raiders were looking to pick up thier first game of the season. Tim Andreolli had 26 points and 8 rebounds and Brandon Russell added 21 points and 6 rebounds as Moorpark (1-2) picked up thier first win of the season with a 78-71 win over Los Angeles Valley (1-2). Kody Knox had 16 points and Christian Simonian added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Monarchs.
Santa Maria, CA – (5) Hancock 100 West Hills-Lemoore 41
JT Riddick had 21 points and 7 rebounds and Spirit Ricks added 15 points and 13 rebounds as 5th ranked Hancock (1-0) picked up their first victory of the season with a 100-41 win over West Hills-Lemoore (0-1). Tresean Jordan had 12 points and 3 rebounds and was the only Hawk in double figures in the loss.
