San Francisco stays hot and at the top in Week 12 Norcal Rankings

Week 12 Northern California Signal The Light Basketball rankings


1. San Francisco (20-1): The Rams remain at the top of the rankings in Northern California following a 2-0 week in Coast North Conference action. San Francisco picked up a 92-63 win over Las Positas and followed that win up with a 82-47 blowout win over Chabot. The Rams have won six straight games and are on top of the conference with a 5-0 record with 7 games to go. San Francisco has a 8-1 record against teams within our rankings this season. This upcoming week, San Francisco will face Ohlone at home on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against Skyline on Friday in Coast North Conference action.

2. Fresno (17-3): The hottest team in Northern California remain at number two in the rankings following another two wins last week in Central Valley Conference play. Fresno cruised past Merced 87-68 and followed that win with a 95-75 win over Reedley in their two conference games last week. Fresno has been solid as the RamsĀ  have won 15 straight games and hold a 6-3 record against teams that are ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball rankings. This upcoming week, the Rams will be in action twice going into the second round of conference action as Fresno will host West Hills-Lemoore and then face off against 9th ranked College of the Sequoias in Visalia on Saturday.

3. Gavilan (19-2): The Rams hold onto the third spot after picking up two huge road wins last week. Gavilan picked up a 76-63 road win against Monterey and followed that up with a 82-60 win in Saratoga against West Valley. The Rams have won five straight games and are atop the Coast South Conference standings with a 5-0 record. This season, the Rams have a 4-2 record against teams within our rankings this season. This week, Gavilan will be in action twice as the Rams will face San Jose on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against Hartnell in Salinas on Friday.

4. Yuba (17-4): The 49ers move up one spot in the rankings after picking up two wins last week in Bay Valley Conference action. Yuba picked up a slim 79-76 win at home against Contra Costa and followed that conference win up with another win against Los Medanos on the road. Yuba has won six straight games and the 49ers have posted a 1-2 record against teams that are ranked inside of our week 12 Signal The Light Basketball rankings. This week, Yuba will face Solano at home on Wednesday and follow that game up with a Friday game on the road against 13th ranked Merritt in Oakland.

5. Cabrillo (15-5): The Seahawks move up one spot in the rankings after posting a win last week. Cabrillo went on the road and picked up a 82-75 win against De Anza. Cabrillo is in 2nd place in the Coast South Conference and the Seahawks have posted a 3-4 record against teams within our week 12 rankings. This upcoming week, the Seahawks will be in action twice as Cabrillo will take on West Valley at home on Wednesday and follow that up with another home outing against San Jose on Friday.

6. Las Positas (16-4): The Hawks drop two spots in the rankings after going 1-1 last week in Coast North Conference. Las Positas lost a huge game against San Francisco 92-63 but followed that up with a 79-76 win over Skyline in conference action. Las Positas has a 1-2 record against teams ranked inside of our week 12 rankings this season. The Hawks will look to continue to play solid basketball as this week Las Positas will face 8th ranked Canada at home on Wednesday and follow that up with another home game against Foothill on Friday.

7. San Joaquin Delta (16-5): The Mustangs remain at number seven in the rankings following a 2-0 week. Delta picked up a 77-72 win over Sacramento and followed that up with a huge 80-76 win over Santa Rosa in Big 8 Conference action. The Mustangs have a two game lead in Big 8 Conference action and have posted a 5-5 record against teams ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball week 12 rankings. This week the Mustangs will be in action twice as Delta will face Modesto on the road on tonight and follow that up with a home game against 14th ranked Cosumnes River in Big 8 action.

8. Canada (15-5): The Colts remain at number eight in the rankings following a Coast North Conference win last week. Canada picked up a 80-73 win over Skyline to move to .500 in conference action. The Colts are 2-3 against teams that ranked inside of our rankings this season. Canada will be in action twice this week as the Colts will face 6th ranked Las Positas on Wednesday and follow that up with another road game against Chabot on Friday in Coast North Conference action.

9. Sequoias (13-7): The Giants move up two spots in the rankings after Sequoias continues to play solid basketball in Central Valley Conference action. Sequoias won two games last week as the Giants beat Cerro Coso 71-59 and followed that up with another home win against Columbia 77-68 to win their sixth straight game and move within two games of first place since losing their first two games in conference. Sequoias has came on strong of late and the Giants have posted a 2-5 record against teams that are in our week 12 Signal The Light Basketball rankings. This upcoming week, the Giants will face Merced on the road on Wednesday and follow that up with a huge must win home game against 2nd ranked Fresno on Saturday afternoon.

10. Feather River (12-6): The Golden Eagles move up three spots in the rankings and crack the top 10 in Northern California after picking up a win last week. Feather River went on the road and beat Shasta 57-47 for their fourth straight win. The Golden Eagles are in a first place tie with Butte in the Golden Valley Conference and Feather River has posted a 0-1 record against teams ranked within our rankings this season. This week, the Golden Eagles will be in action one time as Feather River will host Lassen on Saturday in their lone game of the week.

11. Columbia (14-5): The Claimjumpers drop two spots in the rankings after going 1-1 last week in Central Valley Conference action. Columbia went on the road and beat Porterville 75-71 and followed that up with a 77-68 road loss against Sequoias as the Claimjumpers are in a tie for 2nd place with Sequoias. This season the Claimjumpers have posted a 0-4 record against teams that are ranked and Columbia will look to pick up two conference wins this upcoming week. Columbia will face Cerro Coso at home on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against West Hills-Lemoore on Saturday.

12. Santa Rosa (15-6): The Bearcubs drop two spots in the rankings after posting a 1-1 record last week. Santa Rosa started off the week picking up a 82-70 home win against Folsom Lake but followed that up with a 80-76 road loss against San Joaquin Delta as the Bearcubs have fallen two games behind the Mustangs in Big 8 Conference action. Santa Rosa has lost two of their last three games and have posted a 4-4 record against teams that are ranked inside of our week 12 rankings. This upcoming week, the Bearcubs will be in action one time as Santa Rosa will host Sacramento tonight in Big 8 Conference action.

13. Merritt (13-8): The Thunderbirds move up two spots in the rankings after posting two wins last week in Bay Valley Conference action. Merritt picked up a win against Mendocino 83-74 and followed that up with a 71-61 win over Napa Valley picking up their fifth win in a row. Merritt has played solid of late and trail conference leader Yuba by a 1/2 game in the standings. The Thunderbirds are 1-3 against teams that are ranked inside of our rankings. This week Merritt will be in action twice as the Thunderbirds will face Contra Costa on the road on Wednesday and follow that up with a huge home game against 4th ranked Yuba.

14. Cosumnes River (11-10): The Hawks move back into the rankings after picking up two wins last week. Cosumnes River slipped past American River 71-70 and followed that up with a road victory against Diablo Valley 72-59 as the Hawks have won four of their last five games in Big 8 Conference action. Cosumnes River is 1-2 against teams ranked inside of our Signal The Light Basketball rankings this season and the Hawks will be in action two times this upcoming week. The Hawks will face Folsom Lake at home tonight and follow that up with a road game against 7th ranked and conference leader San Joaquin Delta on Friday.

15. Marin (10-10): The Mariners move into the rankings after posting two victories last week in conference action. Marin cruised to a 84-48 victory over Alameda and followed that up with a 76-68 road win against Mendocino in their two games last week. The Mariners have won four of their last five games and have posted a 0-5 record against teams within our rankings this season. This upcoming week, Marin will face off against Napa on Wednesday at home and follow that up with a road game against Contra Costa on Friday.
