San Francisco continues to cruise at the top of Norcal rankings

Signal The Light Basketball week 14 Northern California Rankings


1. San Francisco (23-1): The Rams stay put at the top of our rankings following another win in Coast North Conference action. San Francisco won their ninth straight game cruising past Canada 90-72 and remained undefeated in conference action. San Francisco has played solid basketball all season long and the Rams have posted a 10-1 record against teams within our rankings. The Rams hold a 1/2 game lead over 2nd place Las Positas and San Francisco will be in action twice this week as the Rams will face Foothill on the road on Wednesday and follow that up with a home game against 5th ranked Las Positas at home on Friday.

2. Fresno (21-3): The Rams remain at number two in the rankings following another two wins in conference action. Fresno picked up a 81-60 win against West Hills-Coalinga and followed that up with a 93-70 road win against Cerro Coso as the RamsĀ  have now won 19 straight games and are undefeated in Central Valley Conference action. The Rams have put together a sold stretch of basketball and this season Fresno has posted a 8-3 record against teams ranked within our week 14 rankings. This week, Fresno will face 8th ranked Columbia on the road on Wednesday and followed that up with a road game against 15th ranked Porterville.

3. Gavilan (22-2): The Gilroy based school stays put at number three in the rankings following a win last week. Gavlian picked up a 62-46 win over 2nd place Cabrillo in Coast South Conference action to move a step closer to clinching the conference title. The Rams have won eight straight games and hold a game and a half lead in conference action with four games to go and Gavilan has posted a 5-2 record against teams ranked within our week 14 rankings. This week, the Rams will be in action twice as Gavilan will battle De Anza on the road on Wednesday and follow that up with a home game against Monterey Peninsula on Friday.

4. Yuba (21-4): The 49ers stay put in the rankings following a two win week in Bay Valley Conference action. Yuba picked up a 66-58 win over Marin and followed that up with a 96-48 clubbing of Alameda in conference action to pick up their 10th straight win. Yuba is closing in on a conference title as the 49ers hold a 3 1/2 game lead with three games left in conference action. The 49ers have posted a 3-1 record against teams that are ranked inside of our week 14 rankings. This week, Yuba will try and close out the conference championship as the 49ers will face Mendocino on the road on Wednesday and follow that up with a home game against Napa Valley on Friday.

5. Las Positas (20-4): The Hawks move up one spot in the rankings following a two win week in Coast North Conference action. Last week, Las Positas picked up a 86-76 win over Ohlone and followed that up with a 96-94 slim victory over Chabot in conference action. Las Positas is a 1/2 game behind conference leading San Francisco and the Hawks have a 3-2 record against teams that are ranked inside of our week 14 rankings. This week, Las Positas will be in action one time as the Hawks will face top ranked San Francisco on the road in their lone game of the week.

6. San Joaquin Delta (20-5): The Mustangs move up one spot in the rankings following two wins last week. San Joaquin Delta picked up a 79-77 win against Sierra and followed that up with a 86-81 win over Folsom Lake in Big 8 Conference action as the Mustangs won their 12th straight game. Since losing their first game in conference have won every game since in Delta has a 5-5 record against teams within our week 14 rankings. Delta has a two game lead in conference action with three to play and the Mustangs can inch a step closer to a conference championship as Delta will face 14th ranked American River on the road tomorrow night and then face Diablo Valley on the road on Thursday for their two games this week.

7. Cabrillo (18-6): The Hawks drop two spots in the rankings following a 1-1 week. Cabrillo picked up a 78-69 win over Hartnell but the Seahawks had a setback as the Aptos based school lost to Gavilan 62-46 in a Coast South Conference battle. The Seahawks have had a solid season and have posted a 4-6 record against teams that are ranked within our week 14 rankings. This week, Cabrillo will face Monterey Peninsula on the road on Wednesday and followed that up with a home game on Friday against De Anza.

8. Columbia (19-5): The Claimjumpers stay put in the rankings after winning two games last week in Central Valley Conference action. Columbia picked up two victories by a total margin of seven points as the Claimjumpers edged West Hills-Coalinga 71-68 and followed that up with a 79-75 road win against Merced keeping themselves within two games of first place Fresno. Columbia has been solid all season long as the Claimjumpers have a 2-5 record against teams that are ranked this season within our rankings. This week, Columbia will be in action twice as the Claimjumpers will face 2nd ranked Fresno at home on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game on Saturday against Reedley.

9. Santa Rosa (18-6): The Beracubs stay put in the rankings after winning two games last week. Santa Rosa picked up a 82-65 win against Modesto and followed that up with a 91-77 win against Cosumnes River as the Bearcubs remain within striking distance in Big 8 Conference action. Santa Rosa is 5-3 against teams that are ranked within our rankings and the Bearcubs have four game remaining in the regular season. This week, Santa Rosa will face Sierra on the road tomorrow night and follow that up with a road game against 14th ranked American River on Thursday.

10. Sequoias (17-8): The Giants move up one spot in the rankings after posting three wins last week in Central Valley Conference action. Sequoias picked up a 80-58 win against Reedley, beat Porterville 66-62 and followed that up with a 99-50 win over West Hills-Lemoore as the Giants remain in 3rd place in the Central Valley Conference. Sequoias has won 10 of their last 11 games and the Giants have a 6-6 record against teams that are ranked within our week 14 rankings. This week, the Giants will be in action one time as Sequoias will face West Hills-Coalinga at home on Saturday night in their lone game of the week.

11. Butte (14-11): The Golden Valley Conference leader moves up one spot in the rankings after posting two wins last week. Butte picked up a 71-60 win over Feather River and followed that up with a 60-57 win over Shasta in conference action. The Roadrunners hold a two game lead with two games to go in conference action and Butte has a 0-5 record against teams within our week 14 rankings. This week, the Roadrunners can clinch the Golden Valley Conference championship with a win over Lassen on the road on Wednesday as Butte is in action one time this week.

12. Canada (17-7): The Colts drop two spots in the rankings following a 1-1 week in Coast North Conference action. Canada started the week off losing 90-72 against San Francisco and followed that up with a 77-72 overtime win against Foothill. The Colts are 4-4 in conference action and have posted a 4-6 record against teams that are ranked within our week 14 rankings. This week, Canada will be in action three times this week as the Colts will face Foothill on the road tonight, follow that up with a home game against Ohlone on Wednesday and face off against Skyline on the road against Skyline on Friday.

13. Los Medanos (15-9): The Mustangs jump into the rankings following two wins last week in Bay Valley Conference action. Los Medanos picked up a 78-68 win over Merritt and followed that up with a 77-66 win on the road against Marin. Los Medanos is 5-1 in their last six games and the Mustangs have a 1-5 record against teams that are ranked within our week 14 rankings. The Mustangs will be in action twice this week as Los Medanos will face Alameda at home on Wednesday and follow that up with another home game against Mendocino on Friday.

14. American River (14-8): The Beavers come back into the rankings after picking up two wins last week in Big 8 Conference action. American River picked up a 87-63 win over Diablo Valley and followed that up with a 78-55 win over Modesto on the road. The Beavers have won three straight games and have a 2-3 record against teams ranked within our rankings. This week, American River has a challenge as the Beavers will face 6th ranked San Joaquin Delta at home tomorrow night and then face 9th ranked Santa Rosa at home on Thursday in two key games.

15. Porterville (13-10): The Pirates drop one spot in the rankings after going 1-1 last week in Central Valley Conference action. Porterville lost 66-62 against Sequoias but picked up a 93-88 win against West Hills-Coalinga in a conference game. The Pirates have won four of their last five games and have a 0-5 record against teams that are ranked this season. This upcoming week is a huge week for the Pirates as Porterville will face Cerro Coso on the road on Wednesday and then face off against 2nd ranked Fresno in a home game on Saturday as the regular season winds down.
