Saddleback upends Citrus in Fullerton

In first day action in Fullerton, J.J. Overton had 20 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds, and Tyler O’Donnell made four three pointers and added 16 points as 8th ranked Saddleback (1-0) won their season opener with a 73-68 win over 6th ranked Citrus (1-2). Psalm Maduakor had 17 points and Jesse Elrod added 13 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for the Owls.

In other action, Adrian Byrd-Jelinek had 14 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds and Trevor Drake added 10 points and three other Knights scored in double figures as 5th ranked San Diego (3-0) rolled to their third straight win with a 93-68 win over West Hills-Coalinga (0-3). Ricardo Time had 18 points and 8 rebounds and Joseph Nicolas added 12 points in the loss for the Falcons.

In the final game of the evening, Rodrick McCobb had 16 points and Omajae Smith added 14 points as 2nd ranked Fullerton (2-0) cruised past San Diego Mesa 95-58 on Thursday evening. Josh Johnson made four three pointers and had 14 points in the loss for Mesa (0-1).


American River Classic

In the first day game of the day, Collin Hill had 20 points and A.J. Singh added 18 points as De Anza (1-0) picked up thier first win of the year 91-79 over Siskiyous (0-4). Alex Velazquez had 22 points and Noe Ramirez added 13 points in the loss for the Eagles.

In the second game of the night, American River (1-0) picked up their first win of the season with a 91-75 win over Redwoods (0-3). Reginald Cousart had 19 points and 4 rebounds and Logan Thrap added 15 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for the Corsairs.


Jonathan Wallace Memorial Tournament

In the first game of the day, Dayton Potts had 17 points and Mrad Abhra added 12 points as 2nd ranked Gavilan (4-0) won their fourth straight game with a 93-62 win over Modesto (0-2). Wes Bookman had 16 points and Isaac Starks added 11 points for the Pirates in the loss.

In the finale of the night, Spencer Montiero had 22 points and Cameron Pieters added 16 points as 8th ranked San Joaquin Delta (3-0) won their third straight game with a 63-52 win on the road against Ohlone (0-1). Kaleb Smith had 18 points in the loss for the Renegades.


Costa Mesa, CA – (11) San Diego Miramar 103 Orange Coast 63

Blake Seits exploded for 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists and Cole Cummings added 15 points and 4 rebounds as 11th ranked San Diego Miramar (4-0) won their fourth straight game to open the season cruising past Orange Coast 103-63 on the road Thursday evening. Jonathan IIeleji had 13 points and 5 rebounds and Brian Self added 10 points in the loss for Orange Coast (1-2) in the loss.

Marysville, CA – (9) Yuba 80 Folsom Lake 66

Brandon Recek had 23 points and Charnpreet Bansal added 13 points and 9 rebounds as 9th ranked Yuba (3-1) picked up a 80-66 win against Folsom Lake (0-2). Zethan Dumpson had 20 points and Isiah Maun added 13 points in the loss for the Falcons.

Compton, CA – Chaffey 95 Compton 92

Jaylen Wiltz made six three pointers and had 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Anthony Garcia added 21 points and 4 assists as Chaffey (2-1) picked up a 95-92 win over Compton (0-1). Dominique Alexander had 27 points and 6 rebounds and Jordan Griffin added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Tartars.

Valley Glen, CA – Los Angeles 93 Los Angeles Trade Tech 79

Micah Cooper made six three pointers and had 27 points, Kody Knox had 24 points and Christian Hodge added 22 points as Los Angeles Valley (2-2) picked up a 93-79 win over Los Angeles Trade Tech (0-1). Fredelin Dela Cruz had 39 points and 12 rebounds and Mark Chin added 12 points in the loss for the Beavers.
