Dates: December 5th, 6th, and 8th

Teams: (7) Saddleback (5-4), (2) East Los Angeles (4-2), (3) Mt. San Jacinto (8-1), (10) Copper Mountain (7-2), Riverside (5-3), (13) West Los Angeles (7-4).

Six teams from Southern California will take part at the Riverside Classic beginning later today. Five ranked teams in our Signal The Light Basketball Southern California week five poll will be in action beginning at 2pm today.

In the first game of the tournament, 7th ranked Saddleback (5-4) will take on 2nd ranked East Los Angeles (4-2) in a battle of two teams ranked inside of our week five top ten in Southern California. The Gauchos come into the game in a bit of a funk as Saddleback has lost four of their last five games after starting the season off with four straight wins. Saddleback is 3-1 against teams ranked inside of our rankings and have picked up victories against Southwestern, San Diego and Citrus in early action this season. The Gauchos have struggled of late but two of their four losses have come against competition outside of California. As for 2nd ranked East Los Angeles, the Huskies have started off the season winning four of their first six games. East Los Angeles is 1-1 against teams that are ranked inside of our rankings this season. The Huskies lost to Arizona Mesa and against West Los Angeles and picked up a win in their last outing against San Bernardino.

In the second match up of the day 3rd ranked Mt. San Jacinto (8-1) will take on 10th ranked Copper Mountain (7-2) at 4pm. The Eagles are off to a hot start this season as Mt. San Jacinto has won eight of nine in the first month and a half. The Eagles are 1-1 against teams that are ranked inside of our rankings and have suffered a loss against top ranked Fullerton. The Eagles are on a three game winning streak and have a 8-0 record when they score 80 or more points this season. 10th ranked Copper Mountain comes into the game as one of the hottest teams in California as the Fighting Cacti have won seven straight games after losing their first two of the season. Copper Mountain is 1-1 against teams ranked inside of our rankings but the Fighting Cacti are playing solid basketball and will look to knock off the Eagles in Riverside.

In the final game of the night in first day action, Riverside (5-3) will host 13th ranked West Los Angeles (7-4). Riverside comes into the game looking outside of our rankings for the first time this season as the Tigers have lost two of their last three games. Riverside has played a tough schedule and have played plenty of close games as the Tigers are 3-2 in games decided by five points or less this season. The Tigers are 0-3 against teams ranked inside of our rankings and the Tigers will look to pick up their first win against a ranked team inside of our rankings. 13th ranked West Los Angles will look to pick up a road victory as the Wildcats are inside of our rankings for the first time this season. The Wildcats will look to get back on track after suffering a loss in the championship game of their own tournament but West Los Angeles has been solid of late as the Wildcats have won four of their last five games. West Los Angeles is 1-2 against teams ranked inside of our week five rankings but have plenty of quality wins to their name. It will be a solid game between two solid teams in the final game of the night.
