City College of San Francisco Tip Off Tournament Day #3
In the championship game of the Tip Off tournament in San Francicso, Malcolm Johnson had 21 points and Walter Urbina added 12 points as top ranked San Francisco (3-0) beat Western Arizona 72-59 to bring home the title. The Rams finish the weekend winning three straight and had a solid first weeekend to start off the 2018-2019 campaign.
In the 3rd place game, Skylar Chavez had 26 points and Damian Wallace added 14 points as 6th ranked Santa Rosa (2-1) edged 2nd ranked Fresno 88-86 to take home third place. Jonah Brown made four three pointers and had 21 points and 5 rebounds and Georgie Dancer added 15 points and 6 assists in the loss for Fresno (1-2).
In the 5th place game, Kammeron Warrens hit a half court shot and 7th ranked Yuba (2-1) won their second straight game with a 73-72 win over Alameda (1-2). Brandon Recek had 25 points and 8 rebounds and Cornell Greenwood added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the win for the 49ers. Treyvon Watson made five three pointers and added 8 rebounds in the loss for the Cougars.
In the 7th place game in San Francisco, Mt. San Antonio (1-2) picked up their first win of the season with a 49-46 win over Napa Valley (0-3). Tylor Gerrard led the Storm with 12 points in the loss while Terrance Coates added 8.
In the first game of the day in San Luis Obisbpo, Luka Filipovic had a game high of 24 points and Lenzell Simmons added 11 points as 4th ranked Mt. San Jacinto (2-0) stayed unbeaten with a 84-68 win over West Hills-Coalinga (0-2). Ricardo Time had 19 points and 6 rebounds and Anthony Johnson added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Falcons.
In the other game of the day, Tristan Forsyth had 15 points and 9 rebounds and Mike Johnson added 12 points as 4th ranked Sequoias (1-1) picked up their first win of the season edging Cuesta 58-56. Alexandre Fanchini had 22 points and Josh Williams-Murry added 15 points in the loss for Cuesta (1-1).
In the championship game of the Sierra Tournament, Jacoby Simon had 24 points and Deandre Jones added 21 points as 14th ranked Feather River (2-0) brought home the championship of the tournament with a 89-75 victory over 12th ranked West Valley (1-1). Tyler Wright had 21 points and Derrik Lawrence added 14 points in the loss for the Vikings.
In the 3rd place game of the Sierra Tournament, Sierra (1-1) picked up their first win of the season with a 76-63 victory over Solano (0-2). Isaiah Duplechan had 21 points and Jordan Adams added 12 points in the loss for the Falcons.
In second day action in Aptos, Spencer Montiero had 18 points and 20 rebounds and sophomore Cameron Pieters added 17 points and 9 rebounds as 10th ranked San Joaquin Delta (2-0) picked up a 70-64 win over Shasta (0-2).
In the final game of the evening, Trey Whitley made eight three pointers, and Dymond Hanks added 23 points as 8th ranked Cabirllo (2-0) cruised past Redwoods 96-46 on Sunday evening. Reggie Cousart had 18 points in the loss for Redwoods (0-2).
