Santa Barbara Tournament – Santa Barbara, CA
In the final of the Santa Barbara Tournament, Victor Valley (9-6) beat Santa Barbara 76-68 on Saturday evening. The Rams broke open a tie game at the break and went on to win the championship. Stephen Evans had 19 points and 6 rebounds, and James Tonic added 18 points Victor Valley. Thomas Walker had 23 points and 9 rebounds for Santa Barbara (4-5) in the loss. The loss ended Santa Barbara’s four game winning streak. In the 3rd place game, Allan Hancock (5-5) moved to .500 with a 83-69 victory over Los Angeles Valley (3-6). In the consolation final, 12th ranked Irvine Valley (7-4) beat Cypress 68-54. Jeremy Wright had 20 points and Jarred Cook added 15 points in the loss for Cypress (3-7).
Riverside Tournament – Riverside, CA
3rd ranked Saddleback (13-1) opened up a 19 point lead at halftime and cruised to a 69-57 victory over 8th ranked Mt. San Jacinto to claim the Riverside Tournament Championship. Dusty Baker led the Gauchos with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Collin Host added 13 points in the victory. Saddleback has now won 8 straight games. Blake O’Donnell had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for Mt. San Jacinto (11-4). In the third place game, 2nd ranked San Bernardino (12-2) cruised to a 81-51 victory over Los Angeles Pierce (8-7). Kyle Benton had 15 points and 8 rebounds, and Dominique Wilson added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the victory. Jordan Fuller had 15 points in the loss for Pierce. In the fifth place game, Citrus moved to 5-5 with 82-58 victory over 11th ranked Chaffey (11-5). John Roach led the Owls with 18 points and Justin Childress added 16 points. Victor Joseph led the Panthers with 18 points in the loss. In the consolation final, 10th ranked Antelope Valley (8-4) beat El Camino-Compton Center 73-64. Shelton Boykin had 30 points and 7 rebounds and Lawrence White added 21 points for the Marauders. James Boyd had 25 points and 24 rebounds in the loss for Compton.
San Jose Tournament – San Jose, CA
In the championship of the San Jose Tournament, 12th ranked Ohlone (8-3) beat 2nd ranked San Jose 70-66 to win the tournament. Guru Sanghera had 23 points and Ryo Tawatari added 17 points in the win. Maurice Joiner had 21 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for San Jose (10-2). In the third place game, top ranked Merritt (10-2) beat Santa Monica 80-68. Leo Smith had 21 points and 6 assist, and Travon King added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the win for the Thunderbirds. In the consolation final, Diablo Valley (5-6) beat Hartnell 67-59. Spencer Clark had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Diablo Valley in the victory.
Foothill Tournament – Los Altos, CA
In the first semi final of the Foothill Tournament, San Joaquin Delta (6-2) beat tournament host Foothill 70-68 on a Jordan Belasco shot with .4 seconds left. Jordan Belasco had 17 points and Troy Anderson added 15 points in the win. In the second semi final, 4th ranked Canada (11-1) beat De Anza 78-67 to advance to the championship game. Israel Hakim and Rohndell Goodwin each scored 21 points and Manny Martin added 10 points and 18 rebounds for the Colts. D.J. Rodriguez had 12 points in the loss for De Anza (3-6). In the consolation bracket, West Hills (5-8) beat Shasta 72-61 to move into the consolation championship game. Khayri Washington scored 21 points in the win for the Falcons. In the other consolation semi final, Sequoias (4-7) beat 13th ranked Butte 90-77. Brantley Bynum had his second straight 30 point game with 34 points and 10 rebounds and West Georgia signee Chris Smith added 24 in the win for the Giants.
In tomorrows action, Canada will face San Joaquin Delta in the championship, Foothill will face De Anza in the 3rd place game, and Central Valley Conference foes Sequoias and West Hills will meet for the third time this season for the consolation championship.
Skyline Tournament – San Bruno, CA
In the first semi final of the Skyline Tournament 15th ranked Las Positas (9-4) beat Gavilan 76-59. Mckayle Harnell scored 15 points and Marti Fonolla added 10 for the Hawks. In the second semi final, 3rd ranked Skyline (11-0) remained undefeated with a 65-63 victory over 13th ranked Bakersfield (6-3). Elijah White had 18 points, and Wai Min added 11 in the win. Jameik Riviere had 20 points in the loss for Bakersfield. In the consolation bracket, Reedley (2-7) upended Redwoods 82-69. Sam Tucker had 16 points and Walter Orr added 14 points in the win for the Tigers. Johny Shelton had 18 points in the loss for Redwoods (5-6). In the other consolation matchup, Siskiyous beat West Valley 56-53 to advance to the consolation championship. Jahmil Johnson scored 18 points and Jerome Lane added 15 points for Siskiyous in the win.
In the championship, Skyline will face Las Positas, and in the 3rd place game, Bakersfield will face Gavilan and in the consolation championship, Siskiyous will take on Reedley.
Lassen Tournament- Susanville, CA
9th ranked Feather River (11-3) beat the William Jessup JV team 108-85. Jarrell Tate had 38 points and Deshawn Pughsley added 16 in the win. In other action 8th ranked College of Marin (6-1) routed the Simpson JV team 101-65. Stan Kaya had 18 points and Luke Chavez added 15 points in the win. In the finale of the night 7th ranked Lassen (12-3) beat Clackamas 95-70. Diondrey Holt had 17 points and five other Cougars scored in double figures in the victory.
Los Angeles Southwest Intensity Classic
Los Angeles Southwest needed overtime to knock off Onxard 100-99. Brandon Jamar had 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 blocks, and Justin Cobb added 22 points in the win for Los Angeles Southwest (5-5). Future Prep beat Imperial Valley 69-65. Garry Wilson had 18 points in the loss for Imperial Valley (0-8).
Aptos, CA- Cabrillo 73 (10) Chabot 67
