Rams stay perfect with win in Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa, CA – (1) San Francisco 78 (2) Santa Rosa 66

Dale Currie had 18 points and Deschon Winston added 13 points as top ranked San Francisco (9-0) won their ninth straight game to start off the season with a 78-66 win on the road against 2nd ranked Santa Rosa (6-2). Ryan Perez and Skylar Chavez each had 17 points in the loss for Santa Rosa in a battle of the top two teams in our week five Northern California rankings.

Riverside City Tournament


In the first game of the day, Alec Hickman had 13 points and Abdul Bah added 11 points as 2nd ranked East Los Angeles (5-2) slipped past 7th ranked Saddleback 62-56. Shawn Stith had 18 points and sophomore J.J. Overton added 15 points in the loss for Saddleback (5-5).

In other action in Riverside, David Thompson scored a game high of 27 points and Deshawn Millington added 24 points and 6 rebounds as 3rd ranked Mt. San Jacinto (9-1) won their fourth straight game with a 91-56 win over 10th ranked Copper Mountain (7-3). Anthony Rice had 15 points and Zack Kroker added 10 points in the loss for the Fighting Cacti.

In the final game of the night, C.J. Clark had 24 points and Cam’Ron Wilson added 16 points and 7 rebounds as Riverside (6-3) picked up a 94-73 win over 13th ranked West Los Angeles (7-5). Mark Carter had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Terrell Waiters added 10 points and 12 assists in the loss for the Wildcats.

Don Johnson Tournament


In first round action in Cypress, Uziel Felix had 23 points and 7 rebounds and Jonathan Martinez and Bryant Howling each added 17 points as Rio Hondo 3-8) advanced to the semi finals with a 84-69 win over Moorpark (6-5). Brandon Russell had 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Tim Andreolli added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for the Raiders.

In the second game of the day, Kyle Young had 14 points and 13 rebounds and Dakarai Hughes added 13 points as Santa Monica (6-4) slipped past Irvine Valley 67-63 to move into the semi finals of the Don Johnson Classic. Kevin Olsen had 15 points and Geoff Salas added 12 points in the loss for Irvine Valley (3-7). Santa Monica will face Rio Hondo in the semi finals tomorrow while, Irvine Valley will take on Moorpark in the consolation bracket.

In other first round action, Mike Magee had 20 points and Kae’Jon Barnes added 16 points and 7 rebounds on 7 of 7 shooting as Cypress (6-2) used a big second half to cruise past 14th ranked Los Angeles Harbor 84-70. Quincy Pinkard had 17 poitns and Henry Johnson added 16 points in the loss for Los Angeles Harbor (5-3).

In the final game of the night, Andre Banton had 23 points and Steven Hubbell added 19 points and 7 rebounds as Glendale (3-6) picked up a first round victory over Cuyamaca 80-65. Frankie Gutirrez had 13 points and Moses Smith added 11 points in the loss for Cuyamaca (1-9). Glendale will face Cypress in the semi finals and Cuyamaca will take on Los Angeles Harbor in the consolation bracket


San Diego, CA – (12) San Diego Miramar 85 San Diego Mesa 73

12th ranked San Diego Miramar (8-2) picked up a 85-73 win over San Diego Mesa (0-6) in non conference action on Wednesday night. Cameron HIll had 23 points and 8 rebounds in the loss for the Olympians.

Lemoore, CA – (5) Hancock 104 West Hills-Lemoore 66

J.T. Riddick had 19 points and Spirit Ricks added 14 points as 5th ranked Allan Hancock (7-1) picked up a 104-66 road victory against West Hills-Lemoore (0-7) in non conference action. Tresean Jordan had 28 points and Dylan Gonzalez added 12 points in the loss.

Orange, CA – Santiago Canyon 100 MiraCosta 83

Lucas Holden had 23 points and 4 rebounds and Tyler Goodlow added 15 points and 10 assists as Santiago Canyon (5-4) scored 63 first half points and cruised to a 100-83 win over MiraCosta (5-5). Devyian Roberson had 18 points and Dirk Helaire Jr. added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Spartans.

Gilroy, CA – (3) Gavilan 93 Skyline 65

D.J. Burgess had 19 points and Ibn Zaid added 17 points as 3rd ranked Gavilan (10-1) won their 10th game on the season with a 93-65 win over Skyline (3-6).

Alameda, CA – Alameda 86 De Anza 84

Donquail Bishop had 18 points as Alameda (3-7) slipped past De Anza 86-84 in non conference action. Ajay Singh had 24 points and Tariq Swanigan added 19 points in the loss for De Anza (3-4).

Woodland Hills, CA – Los Angeles Pierce 79 El Camino 78

Kyle Lord had 18 points and Christian Guillory added 17 points as Los Angeles Pierce (6-3) slipped past El Camino 79-78 on Wednesday evening. Justin Chambers had 20 points and Justin Reyes added 18 points in the loss for the Warriors.
