Porterville picks up conference opening win over Reedley

D.J. Wilson had 23 points and Damorea Green added 14 points as Porterville (6-6, 1-0) opened up conference play with a 84-64 road win over Reedley (6-7, 0-1).

Lemoore, CA – (3) Fresno 114 West Hills-Lemoore 45

In the Central Valley, David Rico went off for 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Ethan Richardson added 17 points and 8 rebounds as 3rd ranked Fresno (10-3, 1-0) won their eighth straight game and opened up conference action with a 114-45 win over West Hills-Lemoore (0-13, 0-1). Dylan Gonzalez had 17 points and Tyler Fields added 16 points in the loss.

Visalia, CA – Merced 74 (11) Sequoias 70

Alexander Stewart made five three pointers and scored a game high of 32 points and Kesean Warren added 16 points as Merced (5-8, 1-0) picked up a 74-70 road win over 11th ranked Sequoias (7-6, 0-1). Keshawn Gibbs had 19 points and TJ Givance added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for the Giants.

Ridgecrest, CA – (8) Columbia 90 Cerro Coso 84

Landis Spivey had 25 points and Yosnier Cobas added 21 points as 8th ranked Columbia (10-3, 1-0) opened up Central Valley Conference action with a 90-84 road win against Cerro Coso (6-6, 0-1). Jordan Pumphrey had 25 points and Brock Duffield added 23 points in the loss for the Coyotes.

Clete Adelman Tournament

In day two action at the Clete Adelman Tournament, Anthony McIntyre had 23 points and 6 rebounds and Max Edwards added 15 points as Los Angeles Pierce (11-6) advanced to the championship game with a 65-59 win San Diego (8-8). Robby Robinson had 19 points and 9 rebounds and Adrian Byrd-Jelinek added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Knights.

In the second semi final of the night, Roman Silva had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Damani Washington added 16 points as 13th ranked San Bernardino (10-5) cruised past 8th ranked San Diego Miramar 90-67. Artis Chapman had 22 points and sophomore Blake Seits had 12 points and 7 rebounds but struggled from downtown going 0-7 in the loss. San Bernardino will next face Los Angeles Pierce  in the title game, while, San Diego Miramar (11-5) will take on San Diego.

In the consolation bracket, Devyian Roberson had 16 points and Thomas Donati added 10 points and 11 rebounds as MraCosta (8-8) advanced to the 5th place game with a 79-48 win over Barstow (1-15). Richard Leenaars had 9 points in the loss for the Vikings.

In other action across the state, Elie Ghomsi had 19 points and 8 rebounds and Jalen Riley added 17 points and 5 assists as Antelope Valley (7-10) cruised past Grossmont 80-45 to advance to the 5th place game to face MiraCosta. Lamon Hudson had 20 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for Grossmont (1-15). The Griffins will face Barstow in the 7th place game.

Big 8 Conference 

Rocklin, CA – Sierra 112 Modesto 91

Karn Goraya had 17 points and Khalil Curtis added 15 points and 6 rebounds as Sierra (6-9, 2-1) moved within a half game of first place with a 112-91 home win over Modesto (4-10, 0-2). Isaiah Harris had 23 points in the loss for the Pirates.

Folsom, CA – Folsom Lake 80 Diablo Valley 69

Zethan Dumpson had 17 points and Will Fitzpatrick added 17 points as Folsom Lake (6-9, 1-2) picked up their first conference win with a 80-69 home win over Diablo Valley (4-8, 0-3).

Sacramento, CA – (10) American River 86 (14) Sacramento 83

10th ranked American River (10-2, 2-0) won their eighth straight game and stayed undefeated in Big 8 Conference action with a 86-83 win over 14th ranked Sacramento (9-6, 1-2). Gregory Milton Jr. scored 32 points in the loss for the Panthers.

Sacramento, CA – (15) San Joaquin Delta 79 Cosumnes River 69

Spencer Montiero had 29 points and Cameron Pieters added 19 points as 15th ranked San Joaquin Delta (10-5, 2-1) picked up a 79-69 road win over Cosumnes River (7-8, 2-1). Khari Hutt had 19 points and Drew Buggs added 19 points in the loss for the Hawks.
