Solomon Brand had 17 points and Carlos Harrison added 10 points as Merritt (8-7, 2-1) forged a four way tie at the top of the Bay Valley Conference with a 63-60 road win over 4th ranked Yuba (11-4, 2-1).

Pittsburg, CA – Los Medanos 84 Solano 70

In Pittsburg, Los Medanos (8-6, 1-1) picked up a 84-70 win over Solano (2-12, 0-3).

Alameda, CA – Alameda 75 Napa Valley 61

Savon Crawley made eight three pointers and had a game high of 28 points and Patrick Washington added 21 points as Alameda (5-9, 1-1) picked up a 75-61 conference win over Napa Valley (3-12, 1-2). Tomas Gomez-Espana had 21 points and Saleem Ali Musa added 11 points in the loss for the Storm.

Kentfield, CA – Contra Costa 95 Marin 71

In conference action, Contra Costa (6-9, 2-1) moved into a tie for first place in Bay Valley Conference action with a 95-71 road win over Marin (6-8, 2-1). Eric Mireri had 21 points and Jalen Chandler added 17 points in the loss for the Mariners.

In first round action in Oceanside, sophomore Roman Silva had a double double as the big man had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Damani Washington added 10 points and 5 rebounds as 13th ranked San Bernardino (9-5) cruised to a 66-46 win over Grossmont (1-14) to advance to the semi finals. Marquell Cool had 12 points and Lamon Hudson added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Griffins.

In the second game of the day, Blake Seits had 25 points and Kobe Gatti added 13 points as 8th ranked San Diego Miramar (11-5) ended a three game losing streak with a 79-76 win over Antelope Valley (6-10). Steve Johnson had 14 points and Jalen Riley added 13 points and 5 assists in the loss for the Marauders. Miramar will face San Bernardino in the semi finals while Antelope Valley will take on Grossmont in the consolation bracket.

In other first round action, Joseph Riley made four three pointers and had a game high of 19 points and Robby Robinson hauled down a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds as San Diego (8-7) advanced to the next round with a 79-36 decisive victory over Barstow (1-14). Jack McDonald had 6 points and 8 rebounds in the loss for the Vikings.

In the finale of the first round in day one action, Max Edwards made six three pointers and scored a game high of 29 points and Anthony McIntyre added 11 points and 6 rebounds as Los Angeles Pierce (10-6) picked up a 77-71 win over MiraCosta (7-8) to advance to the semi finals tomorrow against San Diego. Dirk Helaire Jr. had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Xavier Allison added 13 points and 7 assists in the loss for the Spartans.

Livermore, CA – (7) Las Positas 102 De Anza 99

In non conference action, Michael Hayes had 38 points and 13 rebounds and Alafia Oluwasogo added 15 points as 7th ranked Las Positas (10-3) slipped past De Anza 102-99 on Wednesday evening. Sophomore Ajay Singh went 14 of 17 from the floor had 36 points and Darien Davis added 28 points in the loss for De Anza (7-8).
