Mendocino wins Modesto Tournament

Modesto Tournament

In the championship game of the Modesto Tournament, Jamarlin Jackson had 31 points and Dashaunte Woods added 13 points as Mendocino (8-1) won their eighth straight game and won the championship game with a 75-71 win over Cuesta (5-7).

In the third place game, Jemeil King had 15 points and Donte Walker added 15 points as Modesto (7-4) knocked off 4th ranked Copper Mountain 86-81 to bring home 3rd place. Ronald Bell had 21 points in the loss for Copper Mountain (12-4) in the loss.

In the fifth place game, David Rico made six three pointers and had 18 points and Fred Lavender added 12 points as 2nd ranked Fresno (8-3) closed out thier week with a 84-72 win over Ohlone (6-5). Devonte Butler had 31 points and Bryce Thompson added 12 points in the loss for the Renegades.

In the consolation championship, Brandon Ruaro had 14 points and 4 assists and Jayshon Lewis added 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists as 8th ranked Yuba (7-4) got past 11h ranked Sacramento 77-64 to win the consolation championship. Gabe Serna had 18 points and Troy Owens added 15 points in the loss for Sacramento (8-5).

Riverside Tournament

In the championship game, Kane Daniels had 23 points and 9 rebounds, and Andre Wilson added 18 points and 6 assists as 15th ranked Riverside (8-4) won the tournament championship with a 72-63 win over 5th ranked East Los Angeles (9-3). Frank Bertz had 20 points and 4 rebounds, and Roderick Williams added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for the Huskies.

In the 3rd place game, Craig LeCesne had 23 points and 9 rebounds and Kendall Lauderdale added 17 points and 9 rebounds as top ranked San Bernardino (12-1) cruised past Compton 86-57 to take home 3rd place. Derrius Ennis had 18 points and L’kielynn Taylor added 16 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for Compton (2-7).

In the consolation final, Akil Reese had 17 points and 8 rebounds, and Jason Richardson added 11 points and 6 rebounds as 6th ranked Fullerton (9-4) got passed Pasadena 71-57 to win the consolation championship. Joe Hampton had 30 points an 6 rebounds in the loss for Pasadena (5-5).

Don Johnson Classic

In the championship game of the Don Johnson Classic, Mike Magee had 21 points and 8 rebounds, and Hayden Moore added 10 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds as Cypress (4-6) won the tournament championship with a 68-60 win over Glendale (4-6). Steven Hubbell had 16 points and 6 rebounds, and Chris Daniels added 13 points in the loss for Glendale.

In the 3rd place game, Will Pierce had 22 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds, and Borja Soriano March added 18 points and 11 rebounds as Barstow (6-8) picked up a 85-81 win over Moorpark to take home the third place trophy. Cole Micek made six three pointers and had 23 points and Ethan Hermann added 14 points in the loss for Moorpark (4-8)

In the consolation final, Henry Johnson had 22 points and Joel Anderson added 16 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds as Los Angeles Harbor (8-5) cruised past 14th ranked Irvine Valley 82-70 to bring home the consolation final championship. Cameron Griffin had 19 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for Irvine Valley (8-5).

Foothill Tournament

In the first semi final of the night, Alex Gil-Fernandez had 25 points and Matt McAndrews added 23 points as 14th ranked Foothill (7-4) moved into the championship game with a 87-67 win over 13th ranked Victor Valley (8-3).

In the second semi final, Eric Jones had 19 points and Jovell Vance added 14 points and 3 rebounds as Contra Costa (5-3) knocked off another ranked team as the Comets beat 3rd ranked Butte 61-54 to move into the championship tomorrow against 14th ranked Foothill. Logan Rooney had 12 points in the loss for Butte (8-2). The Roadrunners will face Victor Valley in the 3rd place game tomorrow.

In the consolation bracket, Jamel White had 17 points and Calvin Fletcher added 16 points as 12th ranked Feather River (8-3) advanced to the consolation championship game with a 87-76 win over Marin. Kevin Kahriman had 20 points and Joey Potts added 18 points in the loss for Marin (0-7).

In the second consolation game, Julian Jones had 24 points and Terrance Jackson added 18 points as De Anza (6-5) picked up a 79-73 win over 5th ranked Santa Rosa (4-4). De Anza will face Feather River in the consolation championship.

Skyline Tournament

In the semi finals, Skyline (7-6) picked up a 78-75 win over West Valley (6-5) to move into the championship.

In the second semi final of the Skyline Tournament, Alvon Marshall had 23 points and JT Branch added 20 points as 9th ranked Las Positas (10-3) won their sixth straight win with a 107-99 win over Porterville (3-5) to advance to the championship tomorrow against Skyline. Porterville will face West Valley in the 3rd place game. Brandon Thomas had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Carlos Angel added 18 points in the loss for the Pirates.

In the consolation bracket, Siskiyous (1-10) picked up thier first win as the Eagles slipped past Folsom Lake in overtime 104-99 to move into the consolation final.  Zethan Dumpson had 26 points and Noah Hernandez and Isiah Maun each had 23 points in the loss for Folsom Lake (1-7).

In the second consolation game, Ibn Zaid had 26 points and Brian King Jr added 16 points as 4th ranked Gavilan (11-1) got back on track as the Rams cruised to a 97-67 victory over Redwoods (1-9) to advance to the consolation final. Gavilan will face Siskiyous tomorrow in the consolation final.

San Jose Tournament

In the final day of the San Jose Tournament, Micahel Steadman had 32 points and Terrell Brown and Dexter Hood each added 22 points as top ranked San Francisco (12-1) cruised past Los Angeles Trade Tech 131-85. Antonio Monroe had 21 points and Braylon Simmons added 16 points in the loss for Los Angeles Trade Tech (2-6).

In the second game of the day, Deshawnte Collins had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Talili Lealea added 14 points and 8 rebounds as Monterey (8-4) got past Merritt 75-67 in final day action in Northern California.

In the final game of the tournament, North Idaho picked up   67-42 win over San Jose (2-7).

Walnut, CA – Mt. San Antonio 63 Hartnell 56

Darrell Williams had 15 points and 6 rebounds, and Corey Grant added 12 points and 5 assists as Mt. San Antonio (4-8) picked up a 63-56 win over Hartnell (6-3) in non conference action. Spencer Conrad had 13 points, 8 assists, and 8 rebounds, and Mathis Sellin added 12 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for Hartnell.

San Diego, CA – (9) San Diego Miramar 90 (8) Grossmont 71

Santa Maria, CA – (7) Cerritos 75 Hancock 51

Demetrius Thomas had 27 points and 10 rebounds, and Keshaun Mack added 17 points and 8 rebounds as 7th ranked Cerritos (9-2) blew out Hancock 75-51 in non conference action. Mayowa Akinsanya had 11 points in the loss and was the only player in double figures for Hancock (6-4).

Glendora, CA – (2) Citrus 91 Los Angeles Pierce 75

Miles Crawford and Jeremy Smith each had 19 points as 2nd ranked Citrus (11-2) continued to stay hot as the Owls cruised past Los Angeles Pierce 91-75 on Saturday evening. Jordan Newt had 26 points and 7 rebounds and Rueben Gonzalez added 12 points and 4 assists in the loss for Los Angeles Pierce (3-7).

Coalinga, CA – West Hills 95 San Diego Mesa 71

In the Central Valley, 10th ranked West Hills (8-1) cruised past San Diego Mesa 95-71. Morrie Neeley had 17 points and Joseph Davis added 14 points in the loss for San Diego Mesa (3-8)
