Clete Adelman Tournament

In the championship game of the tournament, Wonder Smith had 15 points and 6 rebounds and sophomore Robert McCoy played an all around superb game as the wing had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 blocks as top ranked San Diego (19-2) used a second half surge to slip past 6th ranked Cerritos 71-69 to win the championship game. Jonathan Guzman had 19 points and Christina Alvis added 13 points and 3 rebounds in the loss for Cerritos (14-4).

In the third place game of the tournament, Takoda Browne had 19 points and Chris Jones made four three pointers for the Jets as 8th ranked San Diego Miramar (13-4) picked up a 72-65 win over Antelope Valley (10-10). Osi Nwachukwu had a huge night as the sophomore had 30 points and 11 rebounds and Surako Follings Jr added 10 points in the loss for the Marauders.

In the consolation championship, Ronald Blain had a big game as the sophomore had 20 points, 18 rebounds, and 5 assists and David Wheeler added 18 points and 4 rebounds as 11th ranked Grossmont (11-6) held off Los Angeles Pierce 74-69 to bring home the consolation title. Chance Cole made 16 of 17 from the line and had 25 points and 7 rebounds and Jordan Newt added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for Los Angeles Pierce (4-12).

Chaffey Tournament 

In the first semi final of the night, Darrion Willies had 24 points and 7 rebounds and Bosten Van Der Veer added 12 points as Chaffey (11-6) advanced to the championship game with a 86-78 win over Long Beach (9-8). Matthew Wooten had 20 points and 6 rebounds and Jordan Heard added 15 points and 3 assists in the loss for the Vikings.

In the second semi final of the night, Austin Clarke made four three pointers and had 19 points and 5 rebounds and Jeremy Smith added 12 points, 5 assists and 4 steals as 3rd ranked Citrus (16-3) edged Palomar 66-63 advancing to the championship game against Chaffey tomorrow. Matt Meyers had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Lavale Coleman-Bell added 15 points in the loss for Palomar (10-8). Palomar will face Long Beach tomorrow in the 3rd place game.

In the consolation side of the tournament, Chris Daniels made six three pointers and had 30 points and 4 rebounds, and Serigne Athj added 19 points and 12 rebounds as Glendale (6-11) picked up a 84-79 win over Desert to move into the consolation final. Philippe Salawa scored 27 points and added 7 rebounds and Andre Allen made four three pointers and had 25 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for Desert (1-12).

In the second consolation game, Chris Townsell had 19 points, 7 asssits, and 5 rebounds and Derrius Ennis added 15 points and 11 rebounds as Compton (3-11) handed 14th ranked West Los Angeles thier third straight loss with a 72-71 win to advance to the consolation final tomorrow against Glendale. Trevor Blackmon had 15 points and 4 rebounds and Prince Obeni added 11 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for West Los Angeles (11-7).

Big 8 Conference

Rocklin, CA – Diablo Valley 75 Sierra 74

Demarre Walker had 24 points and Victor Mijas added 18 points as Diablo Valley (9-7, 2-2) slipped past Sierra 75-74 in conference action. Kenny Olsem had 18 points and Tre Finch added 16 points in the loss for Sierra (8-7, 3-1).

Santa Rosa, CA – (8) Santa Rosa 83 Sacramento 72

Skylar Chavez had 21 points and Beau Keeve added 20 points as 8th ranked Santa Rosa (11-4, 4-0) won their seventh straight game and stayed undefeated in Big 8 Conference with a 83-72 win over Sacramento (9-8, 1-3). Troy Owens had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Terry Moody added 15 points and 11 reboudns in the loss for the Panthers.

Sacramento, CA – Cosumnes River 81 Folsom Lake 72

D’Rajaee Austin had 33 points and Nathan Wilson added 17 points and 9 rebounds as Cosumnes River (6-7, 2-1) picked up a 81-72 win over Folsom Lake (1-12, 0-4). Isiah Maun had 25 points and 13 rebounds and Zethan Dumpson added 20 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.

Modesto, CA – Modesto 85 San Joaquin Delta 69

14th ranked Modesto (9-6, 2-1)picked up a 85-69 win over San Joaquin Delta (4-8, 1-2). Devin Pierce had 12 points and Alex Smith added 11 points in the loss for the Mustangs.

Fairfield, CA – (11) Contra Costa 74 Solano 70

Matthew Murray had 18 points and 13 rebounds and Eric Jones added 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists as 11th ranked Contra Costa (10-5, 4-0) stayed undefeated in conference action with a 74-70 win over Solano (6-8, 1-2). Leon Williams had 17 points and Isaiah Duplechan added 16 points in the loss for the Falcons.

Napa, CA – Napa Valley 88 Alameda 85

Tom Salsman and Jayden Hampton each had 15 points as Napa Valley (7-7, 3-0) evened out their record and stayed undefeated in conference action with a 88-85 win over Alameda (3-11, 1-3). Chiddy Golden had 25 points and D.J Ward added 22 points in the loss for the Cougars.

Oakland, CA – Mendocino 78 Merritt 77

Deshaunte Woods had 26 points and Jamarlin Jackson added 18 points as Mendocino (10-5, 2-2) picked up a 78-77 win over Merritt (7-8, 1-2). Deon Steward had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Tommy Faustka added 11 points and 10 reboudns in the loss for the Thunderbirds.

Isaac Ramirez had 20 points and John Williams added 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Pirates.
