Jets continue to fly high


Imperial Valley Tournament

In day two of the Imperial Valley Tournament, 15th ranked San Diego Miramar (11-4) won their fourth straight game with a 89-72 victory over Los Angeles Harbor (5-10). In other action, Gunnar Mogolis had 13 points and Dajuan Flugham added 11 points and 20 rebounds as Desert (2-11) picked up a 71-60 victory over CETYS. In other action Pasadena (5-9) picked up a 82-68 win over Imperial Valley (4-9). Eugene Rice had 18 points and Emmanuelle Bradbury added 14 points in the loss.

Chabot Tournament

In the semi finals at the Chabot Tournament, Jovontae Carlton had 29 points and Rodney Pope added 27 points as 5th ranked DIablo Valley (11-3) advanced to the title game with a 94-79 win over 10th ranked Antelope Valley (8-6). Osinachi Nwachukwu had 17 points and Cory Dollarhide added 12 points in the loss. In the second semi final tournament host Chabot (3-10) suffered a 80-68 loss to Wayne County. Wayne County will face Diablo Valley in finals tomorrow.

In the consolation bracket at the Chabot Tournament, Khari Hutt had a game high 29 points and Leondre Lintz added 15 points as 14th ranked Cosumnes River (8-6) picked up a 88-81 win over the Bethesda JV to advance to the consolation championship game. In other action, Isiah Quintero had 22 points and Eric Toles added 18 points as Sierra (5-8) picked up a 91-79 win over the Simpson JV.

San Diego Mesa Tournament

In the semi finals of the San Diego Mesa Tournament 7th ranked East Los Angeles (8-3) advanced to the championship game with a 77-70 win over Cuyamaca (5-10). In the second semi final Romario Saunders had 30 points and Troy Arce added 17 points as West Hills (7-4) slipped past Santa Ana 84-81 in overtime to move into the finals tomorrow against East Los Angeles.

In the consolation bracket at the San Diego Mesa Invitational, Armstrong Ojunkwu had 24 points and 18 rebounds and Marc Cabrera added 11 points and 8 assist as San Diego Mesa (3-10) advanced to the consolation championship with a 68-54 victory over Victor Valley (3-11). Tristan Angelo had 16 points and Nate Clarke added 11 points in the loss for the Rams. In other action, Cypress (7-7) advanced to the consolation championship with a 70-52 victory over 13th ranked Grossmont (8-7).

Siskiyous Tournament

In second day action at the Siskiyous Tournament, David King and Mike Wadsworth each had 19 points as Sacramento (8-6) picked up a 89-64 victory over Siskiyous (4-11). Johnny Lopez had 14 points and Juan Parrilla added 13 points for Siskiyous in the loss. In other action, Umpqua picked up a 92-88 victory over Shasta (3-12). In another contest up north, Lane picked up a 90-81 victory over 7th ranked Butte (11-5). Josiah Wood had 18 points in the loss for the Roadrunners.

College of the Canyons Tournament

In the final of the College of the Canyons Tournament, Chris Collins had 18 points and Michael Kalu added 17 points and 6 rebounds as Canyons (7-10) picked up a 85-76 win over Barstow (5-9). Jordan Rogers Garcia had 23 points and 9 rebounds and William Pongrac added 12 points and 6 assist in the loss for Barstow. In the consolation championship in Santa Clarita, Josh Mendoza had 17 points and Ryan Fusco added 14 points and 11 rebounds as Orange Coast (7-8) picked up a 80-66 win over Los Angeles Trade Tech (9-8). Jamey Morgan had 20 points and Antonio Singleton added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for Los Angeles Trade Tech.

Allan Hancock Tournament

In the semi finals at the Allan Hancock Tournament, Jackson Strong and Sean Birk each had 13 points as Palomar (7-6) picked up a 79-68 win over Cuesta to advance to the championship game. Karem Ozel had 17 points and Noah Saunders added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for Cuesta (5-9). In the second semi final, Erik Kinnebrew had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Dominic Jackson added 14 points as Allan Hancock advanced to the title game with a 72-69 win in overtime over Los Angeles Pierce (4-8). Lucious Coleman had 23 points and Jordan Newt added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 steals in the loss for Los Angeles Pierce.

In the consolation bracket at the Allan Hancock Tournament, Willie Barnes had 18 points and 7 rebounds and Aaron Gibson added 17 points and 7 assist as Los Angeles Southwest (8-8) advanced to the consolation final with a 97-83 win over Merritt (2-9). Tyrell Alcorn had 18 points and 6 rebounds and Thomas Avent added 16 points int the loss for Merritt. In other action in the consolation bracket, Jonah Underwood had 23 points and 15 rebounds and Jonell Burton added 8 points and 13 rebounds as San Jose (4-9) picked up a 78-51 win over Cerro Coso (1-8). Tyrell Coleman had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Michael Polman added 15 points in the loss.

Bay Valley Conference

Pittsburg, CA – (2) Yuba 90 Los Medanos 70

Jourdan Johnson had 25 points and Xavier Francois added 18 points and 13 rebounds as 2nd ranked Yuba (12-2, 2-0) cruised past Los Medanos (3-8, 0-2) in Bay Valley Conference action Thursday night.

San Pablo, CA Р Contra Costa 83 Alameda 60

Curtis Harris had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Kolman Kelly added 13 points and 6 rebounds as Contra Costa (4-9, 2-0) cruised past Alameda 83-60.

Zach Copeland had 24 points and Armani Collins added 14 points as top ranked San Francisco (15-1) won their eighth straight game with a 94-69 win over Gavilan (2-9). Dennis Zmijewski had 14 points and Yakuba Mansaray added 13 points in the loss for the Rams.
