As the end of 2016 approaches, holiday action started on Wednesday across the state.
In first round action at the Chabot Tournament, Christian Solis and Jailen Gill each had 18 points as 10th ranked Antelope Valley (8-5) cruised past unranked Sierra 92-66 earlier today. Eric Toles had 30 points in the loss for Sierra (4-8). In other action, Rodney Pope had 23 points and Jovontae Carlton added 19 points as 5th ranked Diablo Valley (10-3) picked up their 5th straight win with a 91-62 victory over the Simpson College JV’s. In other action, Wayne County picked up a 70-67 victory over 14th ranked Cosumnes River (7-6). Khari Hutt had 21 points and Leondre Lintz added 19 points in the loss for the Hawks. In the finale of the evening, Demarre Walker scored a game high 36 points and Marcus Booker added 12 points as Chabot (3-9) picked up a 88-86 win over the Bethesda JV squad.
At the Cougars Holiday Classic, four College of the Canyons players scored over 20 points led by Garrett Mike with 25 points and 11 rebounds and Alex Sanchez added 25 points and 15 rebounds as Canyons (6-10) picked up a 110-106 win over Orange Coast in double overtime. Josh Mendoza had 29 points and Parker Romo added 21 points and 4 assist in the loss for Orange Coast (6-8). In the other match up of the day in Santa Clarita, John Manjon Beristain had 22 points and 15 rebounds and Jordan Rogers Garcia added 20 points and 6 rebounds as Barstow (5-8) cruised past Los Angeles Trade Tech 103-77 on Wednesday afternoon. Michael Murphy had 24 points and Philip Morgan added 21 points in the loss for Los Angeles Trade Tech (9-7).
Allan Hancock Tournament
In first round action at the Allan Hancock Tournament in Santa Maria, Troy Bolden had 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Deon Whiteside added 15 points as tournament host Allan Hancock (6-9) slipped past Cerro Coso 102-91 in overtime to advance to the semi finals. Kainoa Matthews had 25 points and 6 rebounds, and Sidney Lloyd added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for Cerro Coso (1-7). In other first round action, Keegan Cummins had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Jackson Strong added 15 points as Palomar (6-6) overcame a 10 point halftime deficit to get past Merritt 70-62 to advance to the semi finals. Thomas Avent had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assist and Malik Thompson added 14 points and 6 rebounds for Merritt (2-8) in the loss. Sophomore guard Karem Ozel had 19 points and 8 assist and Joey Liem added 13 points as Cuesta (5-8) picked up a 79-68 victory over Los Angeles Southwest (7-8). Jawan Butler-Stevenson and Jordan Young each had 14 points in the loss for Los Angeles Southwest. In the night cap in Santa Maria, Lucious Coleman had 17 points as Los Angeles Pierce (4-7) overcame a 7 point halftime deficit and picked up a 55-53 win over San Jose (3-9). Jonah Underwood had 26 points and 18 rebounds and Jonell Burton added 15 points in the loss.
Imperial Valley Tournament
In first day action at the Imperial Valley Tournament, 15th ranked San Diego Miramar (10-4) won their third straight game with a 76-68 victory over unranked Pasadena (4-9). In other action, Donal Hughes had 25 points and Vardaman Anderson added 21 points as Los Angeles Harbor (5-9) picked up a 102-77 victory over Desert (1-11). Donnie Wilson had 16 points and Dajuan Fulgham added 14 points in the loss for Desert. In the final game of the night, Eugene Rice had 22 points and Brandon Martinez added 18 points as Imperial Valley (4-9) won their second straight game with a 70-51 win over CETYS.
San Diego Mesa Tournament
In first round action at the San Diego Mesa Invitational Darius Scott had 19 points and Romario Saunders added 10 points as West Hills (6-4) picked up a 62-57 win over Victor Valley (3-10). In other action, Cuyamaca (5-9) slipped past Cypress 75-69 to advance to the semi finals. O’Shae Williams had 30 points in the loss for Cypress (6-7). In other first round action, Santa Ana (5-9) picked up a 83-79 overtime victory over tournament host San Diego Mesa (2-10). In the night cap, Sequan Walker had 15 points and Roderick Williams added 13 points as 7th ranked East Los Angeles (8-3) picked up a 74-59 win over 13th ranked Grossmont (8-6).
At the Siskiyous Tournament, Jacob Bigler had 31 points and Justin Johnson added 21 points as Lane Community College (6-4) slipped past Shasta 93-89 Wednesday afternoon. Davean Howe had 23 points and Jordan Phills and Dominique Stewart each had 19 points in the loss for Shasta (3-11). It was the fifth loss in a row for the Knights. In other action, K.J. Duronslet had 24 points and Mike Wadsworth and Gabe Serna each had 19 points as Sacramento (7-6) crushed 7th ranked Butte 90-69. Joshiah Wood had 17 points and Darae Elliott added 12 points in the loss for Butte (11-4). In the final game of the night, Umpqua picked up a 75-55 win against Siskiyous (4-10). Deontrey Fuller had 14 points in the loss for the Eagles.

Brandon Jolley and Ja Morgan each had 16 points as 9th ranked San Bernardino (14-3) picked up a 67-62 win over Big Bend CC in first round action at the Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout.
Monterey, CA – (11) Ohlone 75 Monterey 70
Christian Yammouni had 23 points and Blake Mcgoenchy added 20 points as 11th ranked Ohlone (11-4) picked up a 75-70 over Monterey (4-10). Marcus Wallace had 24 points in the loss for the Lobos.
