(7) Saddleback 73 Southwestern 55

In first round action at the Palomar Tournament, J.J. Overton had 15 points and 4 rebounds, and Isaiah Brooks added 13 points and 5 rebounds as 7th ranked Saddleback (5-2) cruised past Southwestern 73-55 to advance to the semi finals. Nathaniel Pearson had 11 points and 7 rebounds for Southwestern (2-5) which lost to the Gauchos for the second time this season. Saddleback will face 13th ranked San Diego Miramar in the semi finals tomorrow and Southwestern will face Los Angeles Harbor in the consolation bracket.

(13) San Diego Miramar 78 Los Angeles Harbor 76

In the second game of the day, Dallas Haupt scored 18 points and collected 4 rebounds, and Chris Jones added 10 points and 5 rebounds as 13th ranked San Diego Miramar (5-1) moved into the semi finals with a 78-76 win over Los Angeles Harbor (2-3). Henry Johnson had 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists and Quincy Pinkard added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Seahawks. Miramar will face Saddleback in the semi finals tomorrow in the semi finals and Harbor will face Southwestern in the consolation bracket.

(5) San Diego 73 Orange Coast 72

Wonder Smith had 23 points and 8 rebounds, and Robert McCoy added 13 points and 8 rebounds as 5th ranked San Diego (8-2) edged Orange Coast 73-72 in first round action at the Palomar Tournament. Joshua Davis had a huge game for the Pirates as the sophomore had 29 points and 17 rebounds, and Rachaun Echols added 19 points and 8 rebounds for Orange Coast (2-4) in the loss. The Knights will face undefeated Santiago Canyon in the semi finals while Orange Coast will face tournament host Palomar in the consolation bracket.

(9) Santiago Canyo 85 (12) Palomar 74

In a battle of ranked teams within our Signal The Light Basketball rankings, Rodney Henderson scored 30 points and had 14 rebounds, and Antoine Jenkins added 24 points as 9th ranked Santiago Canyon (8-0) stayed undefeated overcoming a 12 point Halftime defeicit to pick up a 85-74 win over 12th ranked Palomar (3-2). Matt Meyers had 21 points and 8 rebounds, and Jackson Strong added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Comets. Santiago Canyon moves into the semi finals and will have a major test facing San Diego and Palomar will face Orange Coast in the consolation bracket.
