West Los Angeles Wild West Shootout

In first round action of the West Los Angeles Wild West Shootout, William English had 22 points and 8 rebounds and Jamiu Akinbile added 11 points and 7 rebounds as Long Beach (6-3) won their third straight game with a 71-62 win over Glendale (2-4) to move into the semi finals of the tournament. Serigne Athj had 17 points and 6 rebounds, and Richard Hollinger Jr. added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Vaqueros.

In the second game of the day, Xavier Gunter had 15 points and 8 rebounds and Deontre Johnlouis Jr added 15 points and 7 rebounds as Santa Ana (5-2) slipped past Los Angeles Pierce 79-76 to move into the semi finals against Long Beach. Jordan Newt had 22 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds and Chance Cole added 17 points and 9 rebounds for Los Angeles Pierce (1-5) in the loss. Pierce will face Glendale tomorrow in the consolation bracket.

In the third game of the day, Trevor Blackmon made five three pointers and had 25 points and Traonte Jones added 14 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds as 14th ranked West Los Angeles (6-3) cruised past Los Angeles Valley 83-64 to move into the semi finals. Dimitri Akenten had 14 points and 7 rebounds and Christian Morataya and Dejwan Walker each had 13 points in the loss for Los Angeles Valley (1-6).

In the final game of day one at the West Los Angeles Tournament, five Vikings scored in double figures as Ron Neezy had 21 points and Will Pierce added 19 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds as Barstow (3-6) will move into the semi finals against West Los Angeles tomorrow with a 96-89 win over Compton (1-4). Derrius Ennis had 20 points and 7 rebounds and Chris Townsell added 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in the loss for Compton who will face Los Angeles Valley tomorrow in the consolation bracket.

James Clark Classic

In first round action of the James Clark Classic, Jordan Gilmente had 21 points and Stephen Northington added 14 points as Chabot (1-5) picked up their first win of the season with a 73-64 win over Napa (1-5). Apodo Amancho had 17 points and 9 rebounds and Joe Fons added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Storm.

In the second match up of the day, Nick Evans made five three pointers and scored 27 points and Peter Hewitt added 17 points and 12 rebounds as 10th ranked Las Positas (5-3) edged Merced 83-75 to move into the semi finals against Sacramento tomorrow. Ricky Heidelbach and Kesean Warren each had 16 points in the loss for Merced (1-7) who will face Feather River tomorrow night in the consolation bracket.

In the third game of the day, Michael Potts had 14 points and Jordan Roberson added 12 points as Cosumnes River (3-3) slipped past Siskiyous 78-68 to move into the semi finals tomorrow against Chabot. Dwayne McClendon had 26 points and Tyvon Gaitors added 14 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for Siskiyous (0-7) who will face Napa tomorrow in the consolation bracket.

In the night cap, Gabe Serna had 20 points and Jhalen Lumpkins added 17 points and 6 rebounds as 14th ranked Sacramento (5-2) edged 9th ranked Feather River 80-78 to move into the semi finals tomorrow. Moli Mojus made six three pointers and had 24 points and Gerard Andrus added 19 points in the loss for Feather River (4-2) who will face Merced in the consolation bracket.

Monterey Bay Classic

In first round action at the Monterey Bay Classic, Rashard Tucker had 16 points and Andrew Mimay added 12 points as Solano (4-2) picked up a 75-72 win over 12th ranked West Valley (5-3). Devante Johnson had 22 points and Delvon Nisby added 19 points in the loss for the Vikings.

In the second game of the day,, Jake Linsky had 20 points, and Parker Sims and Zane Paddon each added 11 points as Irvine Valley (6-2) move into the semi finals against Solano tomorrow with a 72-57 over Hartnell (3-1). Rene Hurtado had 16 points in the loss for the Panthers who will face West Valley tomorrow in the consolation bracket.

In the third game of the day, Deshawnte Collins had 22 points and 8 rebounds, and Marcus Wallace added 20 points as tournament host Monterey (5-3) picked up a 78-66 win over Santa Barbara (0-7) to move into the semi finals tomorrow. Aaron Mejia had 14 points and Francisco Gutierrez  added 13 points in the loss for the Vaqueros.

In the finale of the night, 7th ranked Gavilan (8-0) won their eighth game in a row to start the season picking up a 68-64 win over Cypress to move into the semi finals against Monterey tomorrow night. Mike Magee had 19 points and Brennon Palmer added 16 points for the Chargers in the loss. Cypress will face Santa Barbara in consolation action tomorrow.

Hemet Valley Kiwanis Hoops and Crops Tournament

In first round action at the Hemet Valley Kiwanis Hoops and Crops Tournament, Andre Wilson had 21 points and 8 rebounds, and Brae Ivey added 20 points and 7 rebounds as 9th ranked Riverside (5-2) picked up a 79-72 over Bakersfield (4-4). Tucker Eenigenburg had 21 points and 9 rebounds and Johnathan Murray added 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss for the Renegades.

In game two of the day, Bosten Van Der Veer had 20 points and 6 rebounds and Tyler Ginyard added 19 points as Chaffey (4-5) won their second straight game with a 112-72 blowout win over San Diego Mesa (3-5). Armstrong Ojunkwu had 18 points and 6 rebounds and Morrie Neeley added 14 points in the loss for the Olympians. Chaffey will next face 9th ranked Riverside in the semi finals tomorrow while Bakersfield will take on San Diego Mesa in the consolation bracket.

In game three of the tournament, Jailen Moore had 23 points and Tre’Von Bentley and Ronald Bell each added 12 points as 2nd ranked Copper Mountain (9-1) won thier seventh straight game as the Fighting Cacti cruised to a 98-68 win over Canyons (4-5) to move into the semi finals against Mt. San Jacinto tomorrow night. Jude Agbasi had 19 points and Michael Kalu added 15 points and 6 rebounds for Canyons who will face 7th ranked Santiago Canyon in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

In the night cap of the tournament, Davon Sanders scored 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and David Thompson added 24 points and hit a game winning three point shot as Mt. San Jacinto (4-6) overcame a 14 point halftime deficit and edged 7th ranked Santiago Canyon to move into the semi finals against 2nd ranked Copper Moutnain tomorrow. Rodney Henderson made five three pointers and had 29 points and 10 rebounds and Antoine Jenkins added 24 points in the loss for Santiago Canyon (8-2) who will meet with Canyons in the consolation bracket.
