East Los Angeles hands San Bernardino first loss

Riverside Tournament

In the first semi final, Jordan Robinson had 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Andre Wilson added 18 points and 8 assists as 15th ranked Riverside (7-4) cruised past Compton 94-75 to advance to the championship game tomorrow against East Los Angeles. Jaylen Million had 20 points and Chris Townsell added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for Compton (2-6) in the loss. Compton will face San Bernardino in the 3rd place game.

In the semi finals, Roderick Williams had 20 points, and Frank Bertz added 17 points and 5 rebounds as 5th ranked East Los Angeles (9-2) handed top ranked San Bernardino 77-52 their first lost of the season. Tuele Williams had 11 points and Kevin Mcneal added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for San Bernardino (11-1). The Wolverines were held to 30% from the floor in shooting.

In the consolation bracket, Khalil Stevenson had 13 points and Akil Reese added 10 points and 11 rebounds as 6th ranked Fullerton (8-4) advanced to the consolation final with a 65-58 win over Mt. San Jacinto (4-8). A.J. Walton had 11 points and 7 rebounds and DeAndre Snedecor added 10 points in the loss for Mt. San Jacinto.

In other action, Kyle Mitchell had 15 points and 5 rebounds and Jordan Jones added 14 points and 6 rebounds as Pasadena (5-4) advanced to the consolation championship with a 92-55 win over Behesda. Pasadena will face Fullerton tomorrow in the consolation final.

Modesto Tournament

In the semi finals of the Modesto Tournament, Jamarlin Jackson had 24 points and Dashaunte Woods added 20 points as Mendocino (7-1) advanced to the championship game with a 82-77 win over Modesto (6-4) in overtime.

In the second semi final, Cuesta (5-6) advanced to the championship game tomorrow against Mendocino with a 78-69 win over 4th ranked Copper Mountain (12-3). Copper Mountain will face Modesto in the 3rd place game tomorrow.

In the 5th place bracket, Tommy Nuno had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists and Drew Cobb added 12 points as 2nd ranked Fresno (7-3) cruised past 10th ranked Saddleback 70-54. J.J. Overton had 20 points for Saddleback (6-6) who lost their second straight.

In other action in the 5th place bracket, Cameron Bradley had 21 points and Vince Safin added 14 points as Ohlone (6-4) picked up a 71-70 win in overtime against 13th ranked Shasta (7-5). Ohlone will face Fresno tomorrow in the 5th place game.

In the consolation, Isaiah Bates had 17 points and 7 rebounds and Josh Dhatt added 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists as 8th ranked Yuba (6-4) picked up a 82-79 win over Reedley (3-6). Hassan Bolden had 22 points and Ruben Parks added 16 points in the loss for the Tigers.

In other action in the consolation bracket, Gabe Serna had 25 points and Ryan Reed added 16 points as 11th ranked Sacramento (8-4) picked up a 99-86 win over Alameda (2-6). Sacramento will face Yuba tomorrow in the consolation championship tomorrow.

Cypress Tournament

In the first semi final, Hayden Moore had 20 points and 4 rebounds and Brennon Palmer added 18 points and 6 rebounds as Cypress (3-6) move into the championship game tomorrow against Glendale with a 70-56 win over Moorpark (4-7). Ethan Hermann had 18 points and 5 rebounds and Ryan McCarthy added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Raiders. Moorpark will take on Barstow in the 3rd place game tomorrow.

In the semi finals, Serigne Athj had 26 points and 14 rebounds, and Chris Daniels added 26 points and 5 rebounds as Glendale (4-5) advanced to the championship game with a 91-86 victory over Barstow (5-8). Will Pierce had 24 points and 7 rebounds, and Denzel Lipson added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Vikings.

In the consolation bracket, Jake Linsky had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Zane Paddon added 9 points and 6 rebounds as 14th ranked Irvine Valley (8-4) picked up a 55-35 win over Cuyamaca (0-9) to advance to the consolation championship. Saiyeed Mershon had 15 points and had 7 rebounds in the loss for the Coyotes.

In the second consolation game, Quincy Pinkard had 27 points and Manfread Ngante added 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists as Los Angeles Harbor (7-5) advanced to the consolation finals against Irvine Valley with a 101-95 win over Rio Hondo (1-8). Kenyatta Louder had 34 points and 9 rebounds, and Jesus Hernandez and Jonathan Martinez each had 16 points in the loss for the Roadrunners.

Foothill Tournament

In first round action, Nate Clark had 16 points and 5 rebounds, and Zach Christian added 14 points and 10 rebounds as 13th ranked Victor Valley (8-2) picked up a 61-54 win over Marin (0-6). Garrick Sherrod had 20 points and Derrick Morgan added 16 points in the loss for the Mariners.

In the second game of the tournament, Matt McAndrews had had 29 points and Alex Gil-Fernandez added 22 points as 14th ranked Foothill (6-4) picked up a 98-88 win over 12th ranked Feather River (7-3). Gerard Andrus had 32 points and Calvin Fletcher added 18 points in the loss for the Golden Eagles. Foothill will face Victor Valley tomorrow in the semi finals while Feather River will face Marin in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

In the third game of the week, Jovell Vance had 28 points and 6 rebounds and Eric Jones added 22 points and 4 assists as Contra Costa slipped past 5th ranked Santa Rosa on a late tip in by Matt Murray with 2.6 seconds left. Skylar Chavez had 31 points for Santa Rosa (4-3) in the loss.

In the final game of the night, Nemanja Kovacevic had 17 points and Andrew Whitsett added 16 points as 3rd ranked Butte (8-1) won their eighth straight game with a 81-71 win over De Anza (5-5). Julian Jones had 27 points in the loss for the Dons. The Roadrunners will face off against Contra Costa in the semi finals tomorrow. De Anza will face 5th ranked Santa Rosa in the consolation bracket.

Skyline Tournament

In first round action, West Valley (6-4) picked up a 78-49 win over Folsom Lake (1-6) in first round action. Isiah Maun had 17 points and Alex Clingan added 8 points in the loss for Folsom Lake.

In other action, Skyline picked up a 84-73 win over Siskiyous to advance to the semi finals. Dwight Sargent had 21 points and Alex Velazquez added 13 points in the loss for Siskiyous (0-10). Skyline will face West Valley in the semi finals and Siskiyous will face Folsom Lake in the consolation bracket.

In the third game of the tournament, Jason Augliera had 20 points and Peter Hewitt added 12 points and 12 rebounds as 9th ranked Las Positas (9-3) won their fifth game in a row with a 82-55 win over Redwoods (1-8). Kameron Lowe had 11 points and Bryce Mateer added 10 points in the loss for the Corsairs.

In the final game of the night, Porterville picked up a 87-85 overtime win over 4th ranked Gavilan (11-1). Brian King Jr had 28 points and Ibn Zaid added 25 poInts in the loss for Gavilan. The Rams will face Redwoods tomorrow in the consolation bracket. Porterville will face 9th ranked Las Positas in the semi finals.

San Jose Tournament

Anthony Dennis had 21 points and 6 rebounds, and Talili Lealea added 11 points and 11 rebounds as Monterey (8-4) cruised past Los Angeles Trade Tech 84-68. Braylin Simmons had 16 points in the loss for Trade Tech (2-5).

In other action top ranked San Francisco (11-1) won their seventh game in a row with a 84-68 win over North Idaho College.

In the last game of the night, Deon Steward had 18 points and 14 rebounds, and Tommy Faustka added 13 points and 12 rebounds as Merritt (3-5) picked up a 66-57 win over San Jose (2-6).

Torrance, CA – El Camino 113 Mt. San Antonio 107

Troy Biglow had 30 points , and Justin Chambers added 18 points as El Camino (3-7) overcame a 10 point halftime deficit and edged Mt. San Antonio 113-107 on Friday evening. Josiah Yarde had 18 points and Minfeke Sanoe added 18 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for Mt. San Antonio (3-7).

Visalia, CA – (7) Sequoias 88 San Diego Mesa 69

Isaiah Johnson had 17 points and 4 assists and Kody Wilson added 16 points and 7 rebounds as 7th ranked Sequoias (7-3) picked up a 88-69 non conference win over San Diego Mesa (3-7). Morrie Neeley had 21 points and 4 rebounds, and Austin Henderson added 17 points in the loss for the Olympians in the loss.
