Match ups: Four teams will participate in the two day Cougar Holiday Classic. One ranked team from Northern California and three teams from Southern California will be in action later on today.

11th ranked Ohlone (9-6) will battle Orange Coast (7-6) in the first match up of the day. The Renegades have won three of their last four games and have played well of late. Ohlone has four players that are averaging in double figures led by Richard Oryem as the freshman is averaging 15.2 points and 3.3 rebounds this season. Bryce Thompson has played well for Ohlone as the guard is averaging 14.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. The sophomore has been an all around stat filler for the Renegades. Kai Winterling (10.7 points) and Cameron Bradley (10.5 points and 5.9 rebounds) and Devonte Butler (8.5 points) will look to contribute in first round action against Orange Coast. Meanwhile, the Pirates come into the matchup losing their last game in the championship of the Los Angeles Southwest Tournament. Orange Coast is 5-1 in their last six games and play extremely hard at both ends of the floor. The Pirates are led by Lloyd Wright as the sophomore is averaging 17.2 points and 3.6 rebounds this season. Big man Joshua Davis has played well as the front court player is averaging 16.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest. Kupaa Harrison is another player to watch for Orange Coast as the sophomore is averaging 14.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists for the Pirates. Orange Coast and their three headed monster will look to pick up a win over a solid Northern California opponent in first round action.

In the second match up of the tournament, Los Angeles Trade Tech (3-8) will face off against tournament host College of the Canyons (6-8). The Beavers come into the tournament losing five of their last six games. Maurice West and Lawrence Carter have played well for the Beavers this season as both players are averaging in double figures. For Canyons, two players are averaging in double figures led by Michael Kalu. The sophomore guard is having a standout season for the Cougars averaging 16.8 points and 5.4 rebounds. Kalu has scored in double figures 13 out of 14 games and scored a season high of 27 points against Cerritos on November 16th. Jacob Lilley has played well for the Cougars as the sophomore guard is averaging 10.3 points and 4.6 assists this season. Frankie Campbell (9.0 points) and Jude Agbasi (8.4 points) will look to contribute for the Cougars in first round action against Trade Tech.
