Columbia edges Sequoias to stay within a game of first place

Central Valley Conference

Sonora, CA – (9) Columbia 71 (8) Sequoias 67

Marquell Hubbard had 23 points and Maurice Woods added 15 points as 9th ranked Columbia (13-5, 7-1) won their fifth straight game and stayed within a game of first place Fresno with a 71-67 win over Sequoias (14-8, 4-4) for the second time this season. Kody Wilson had 26 points and Solomon Taylor added 15 points in the loss for the Giants.

Ridgecrest, CA – (2) Fresno 140 Cerro Coso 100

Tyus Millhollin had a big night as the sophomore made ten three pointers and had 40 points and Georgie Dancer added 24 points as 2nd ranked Fresno (20-3, 8-0) won their fourteenth straight game and stayed unbeaten in conference with a big 140-100 win on the road against Cerro Coso (5-14, 1-7). Cameron Redd had 28 points and Dom Philip added 20 points in the loss for the Coyotes.

Coalinga, CA – (10) West Hills 77 Reedley 75

Winder Joseph and Lloyd Hanna each scored 14 points as 10th ranked West Hills (15-4, 6-2) squeaked past Reedley 77-75 to stay in the race for the championship in the Central Valley Conference. Ruben Parks had 19 points and Alfredo Jimenez added 17 points in the loss for Reedley (7-13, 3-5).

Merced, CA – Porterville 76 Merced 75

Elijah Cardenas had 20 points and Carlos Angel added 20  points as Porterville (7-12, 2-6) picked up a 76-75 road win against Merced (3-17, 1-7) on Saturday evening.

Western State South Conference

Culver City, CA – Los Angeles Pierce 87 West Los Angeles 75

Jordan Newt made five three pointers and scored a game high of 27 points and Chance Cole added 26 points and 7 rebounds as Los Angeles Pierce (7-14, 2-1) moved into a three way tie for first place with a 87-75 road win over West Los Angeles (15-8, 2-1). Kervens Cadet had 21 points and 4 assists and Trevor Blackmon added 19 points and 3 assists in the loss for the Wildcats.

Bakersfield, CA – Bakersfield 87 Canyons 81

Tucker Eenigenburg made eight three pointers and went 17 of 17 from the line and had a school record of 51 points and Shahadah Camp added 14 points and 4 rebounds as Bakersfield (12-10, 3-1) picked up a 87-81 win over Canyons (10-12, 1-2). Anthony Simone had 28 points and 5 rebounds and Michael Kalu added 19 points in the loss for the Cougars.

Golden Valley Conference

Eureka, CA – Feather River 89 Redwoods 86

Gerard Andrus scored a game high of 41 points and Jamel White added 15 points as Feather River (14-8, 3-2) slipped past Redwoods 89-86 to stay within two games of first place in Golden Valley Conference action. Dunnell Stafford had 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists and Tyrice Paul added 14 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds in the loss for Redwoods (2-17, 0-5).

Susanville, CA – (3) Butte 74 Lassen 63

Terry Clarendon had 21 points and sophomore Darae Elliott added 10 points as 3rd ranked Butte (18-3, 5-0) continued to roll and stayed undefeated in conference action with a 74-63 road win against Lassen (6-12, 2-3). Uwana Ekiko had 21 points and Max Denham added 12 points in the loss for the Cougars.

Weed, CA – (14) Shasta 82 Siskiyous 61

Blake Trent and Hunter Johnson each scored 15 points as 14th ranked Shasta (14-9, 5-1) stayed within a 1/2 game of first place cruising past Siskiyous 82-61 on Saturday afternoon in conference action. Justin Gaines had 24 points and Dwayne McClendon added 17 points in the loss for Siskiyous (3-18, 1-5).

Western State North Conference

Oxnard, CA – Allan Hancock 103 Oxnard 85

Shane Carney had 26 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds and Devin Davis added 16 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists as Hancock (16-8, 3-1)picked up a 103-85 road win over Oxnard (3-10, 1-3). Jakari McClain had 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists and Al Stubbs added 26 points in the loss for the Condors.

San Luis Obsipo, CA – Cuesta 73 Moorpark 50

Noah Saunders had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Nico Gonzalez added 19 points and 6 rebounds as Cuesta (12-13, 2-2) picked up a 73-50 home win against Moorpark (9-12, 2-2). Garret Bilby had 9 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for the Raiders.

Lancaster, CA – (14) Antelope Valley 86 Glendale 66

D’Mauria Jones made six three pointers and had 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Greg Floyd Jr added 18 points and 10 rebounds  as 14th ranked Antelope Valley (14-11, 4-1) picked up a 86-66 victory over Glendale (9-13, 2-3). Serigne Athj had 19 points and 9 rebounds and Chris Daniels added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for the Vaqueros.

Barstow, CA – (2) Citrus 85 Barstow 70

Jeremy Smith had 17 points and 7 assists and Treyvon Watts-Hale addd 13 points as 2nd ranked Citrus (22-3, 5-0) won thier eighth straight game with a 85-70 win over Barstow (8-15, 1-4). Ron Neezy had 24 points and 7 rebounds and Borja Soriano March added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for the Vikings.

San Diego, CA – (11) San Diego Miramar 102 Miracosta 80

Chris Jones had 22 points and Caleb Giordano added 14 points and three other Jets scored in double figures as 11th ranked San Diego Miramar (16-7, 3-2) cruised to a 102-80 win over MiraCosta (6-15, 1-4). Cody Hicks had 17 points and Aleks Pocej added 15 points in the loss for the Spartans.
