Canyons to meet San Diego in Bill Brummel Final

In the semi finals, Jacob Lilley had 11 points and 6 assists, and Robert Moss had 10 points and hit the game winning three pointer as Canyons (6-7) moved into the championship game with a 57-56 win over Saddleback (7-7). Anthony Naimie had 16 points and 9 rebounds, and Shawn Stith added 14 points in the loss for the Guachos.

In the second semi final of the night, Robert McCoy had 23 points and 9 rebounds, and Wonder Smith added 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists as 2nd ranked San Diego (15-2) won their state leading 15th game with a 87-65 blowout win over Cuesta to advance to the championship game against Canyons tomorrow. Noah Saunders had 21 points and 9 rebounds and Rodrigo Majarin added 14 points in the loss for Cuesta (6-8) who will face Saddleback in the 3rd place game tomorrow.

In the consolation bracket, Zane Paddon had 12 points and 9 rebounds, and Jake Linsky added 11 points and 13 rebounds as Irvine Valley (9-6) held off Long Beach 56-54 to advance to the consolation championship. Artis Parris had 12 points and 5 rebounds and Jermiah Sadler added 11 points in the loss for Long Beach (7-8).

In the second game of the consolation bracket, Cole Barton had 19 points and 7 assists, and Tre Morgan added 12 points and 14 rebounds as Mira Costa (5-8) advanced to the consolation championship with a 78-72 win over Los Angeles Trade Tech (2-8). Maurice West had 13 points and 9 rebounds and Antonio Monroe added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Beavers.

Santa Rosa Tournament 

In the semi finals of the Kris Kringle Invitational, Skylar Chavez had 28 points and Cetrick Yeanay added 18 points and 12th ranked Santa Rosa (6-4) made 21 three pointers en route to a 79 -68 win over Napa (3-7) to advance to the championship game tomorrow. Amancho Adopo had 22 points and Sasha French added 17 points in the loss for the Storm in the loss.

In other action in the semi finals, Gerard Andrus had 25 points and Calvin Fletcher added 20 points as 13th ranked Feather River (11-3) picked up a 74-71 win over Canada to advance to the finals against 12th ranked Santa Rosa tomorrow. Noah Conner had 28 points and Salafai Osiomalo added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the loss for Canada (7-6). The Colts will face Napa in the 3rd place game tomorrow.

In the consolation bracket, Kameron Lowe had 18 points and 3 assists and Tyrice Paul added 13 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals as Redwoods (2-10) advanced to the consolation final with a 74-61 win over Chabot (1-10).

In the other consolation game, Los Medanos (6-4) picked up a 79-78 win over 14th ranked Mendocino (8-3). Jamarlin Jackson had 24 and Larry Bryson added 15 points in the loss for the Eagles. Los Medanos will face Redwoods in the consolation championship tomorrow.

Los Angeles Southwest Tournament

In the semi finals, sophomore Joshua Davis went off for 24 points and 17 rebounds, and Kupaa Harrison added 17 points as Orange Coast (8-5) advanced to the championship game with a 76-62 win over Rio Hondo (2-10). Jonathan Martinez and Anthony Rios each had 12 points in the loss for the Roadrunners.

In other action, Kiza Sekiyoba made five three pointers and had a game high 32 points, and D’Lano Beckles added 19 points and 6 rebounds as Los Angeles Southwest (6-6) overcame a 11 point halftime deficit and edged Santa Ana 96-93 to advance to the championship game against Orange Coast tomorrow. Cameron High had 26 points and Xavier Gunter added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for Santa Ana (6-6) who will face Rio Hondo in the 3rd place game tomorrow.

In the consolation bracket, Devin Davis had 19 points and 7 rebounds, and sophomore guard Shane Carney added 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists as Hancock (8-5) cruised past Oxnard 102-79 to advance to the consolation championship. Jakari mcClain had 24 points and 6 rebounds, and Al Stubbs added 23 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for Oxnard (0-8).

In the second game in the consolation bracket, Dimitri Akenten had 19 points and 6 rebounds and Elijah Bonds added 13 points and 5 rebounds as Los Angeles Valley (4-8) advanced to the consolation championship game with a 76-42 win over Santa Barbara (1-11). Dejon Jackson had 10 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for the Vaqueros. The Monarchs will next face Hancock tomorrow in the consolation final tomorrow.

Kirby Mannon Pepsi/Wyndham Hotel Tournament

In first round action, Fred Lavender scored 18 points and added 4 rebounds, and Tommy Nuno added 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists as 2nd ranked Fresno (9-3) overcame a three point halftime deficit and cruised to a 103-85 win over El Camino (4-8). Troy Biglow had 19 points and Tristan Egans added 15 points in the loss for the Warriors.

In the second game of the tournament, Demetrius Thomas had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists as 5th ranked Cerritos (10-2) picked up a 76-67 win over Shasta to advance to the semi finals. Blake Trent had 18 points and Kellen Gerig added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for Shasta (7-6). Cerritos will face Fresno in the semi finals tomorrow while Shasta will face El Camino in the consolation bracket.

In the third match up in Visalia, Jacob Alonzo made four three pointers and had 15 points and 6 steals, and Darrell Handy-Johnson added 10 points and 9 rebounds as 13th ranked Ventura (10-4) slipped past Pasadena 54-49 in a slow scoring affair on Friday evening. Kyle Mitchell had 17 points and 6 rebounds and was the only scorer in double digits for Pasadena (5-6) in the loss for the Lancers.

In the finale of the night, Solomon Taylor had 19 points and Andy Iskopehi added 10 points and 13 rebounds as 6th ranked Sequoias (8-3) picked up a 80-76 win over 10th ranked Contra Costa (6-4) to advance to the semi finals tomorrow against Ventura. Kemare Wright had 19 points and 5 rebounds, and Eric Jones added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Comets in the loss. Contra Costa will face off against Pasadena tomorrow in the consolation bracket.

West Valley Tournament

In the first semi final, Matt McAndrews had 18 points and Chris Russell added 17 points as Foothill (9-5) cruised past 3rd ranked Diablo Valley 68-50 to advance to the finals tomorrow. Victor Mijas had 12 points in the loss and was the only Diablo Valley (7-4) player in double figures.

In the semi finals of the West Valley Tournament, Ohlone (8-5) picked up a 93-82 win over tournament host West Valley (7-7) to advance to the championship game tomorrow. Ohlone will face Foothill in the championship while West Valley will face Diablo Valley in the 3rd place game.

In the consolation bracket, Isaiah Duplechan had 15 points and Leon Williams added 14 points as Solano (5-5) picked up a 63-56 win over 11th ranked Monterey (9-6) to move into the consolation championship tomorrow.

In the second consolation game, Hartnell (7-4) picked up a 76-74 win over Cerro Coso (1-6) to advance to the consolation final tomorrow against Solano. Cam Redd had 27 points and Abe Dickson added 13 points in the loss for Cerro Coso.

San Joaquin Delta Holiday Tournament

In the opening day of the San Joaquin Delta Tournament, 4th ranked Butte (10-2) won thier tenth game of the season with a 75-61 win over Merced (1-9).

In other action in the first round, Tre Finch had 25 points and 5 assists and Kenny Olsem added 23 points as Sierra (5-4) picked up a 101-85 win over Alameda (2-7). Sierra will face Butte in the semi finals while Alameda will take on Merced in a battle in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

In the third game of the tournament top ranked San Francisco (13-1) got 22 points from Terrell Brown and Lewis Hayes added 15 points as the Rams picked up a 77-65 win against tournament host San Joaquin Delta (1-6) to advance to the semi finals tomorrow.

In the night cap, Linton Acliese had 22 points and Kobe Ordonio added 17 points as Cabrillo (6-5) cruised to a 63-36 win over Reedley (3-7) to advance to the semi finals against top ranked San Francisco tomorrow. Hassan Bolden had 10 points and Ruben Parks added 11 points in the loss for the Tigers. Reedley will face San Joaquin Delta in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

San Diego, CA – (6) San Diego Miramar 86 San Diego Mesa 67

Chris Jones and Deion Alston each had 14 points as 6th ranked San Diego Miramar (9-2) won their 3rd game in a row cruising past San Diego Mesa 86-67 in non conference action. Armstrong Ojnkwu had 17 points and 16 rebounds and Morrie Neeley added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for San Diego Mesa (3-10).

Livermore, CA – (9) Las Positas 88 Folsom Lake 68

Anand Hundal has 15 points and Peter Hewitt added 13 points as 9th ranked Las Positas (11-4) cruised to a 88-68 win over Folsom Lake (1-8). Noah Hernandez had 26 points and Justice Seabron added 14 points in the loss against the Hawks in non conference action.

Menifee, CA – Mt. San Jacinto 90 (8) West Hills 85

Davon Sanders had 41 points and C.J. Hyder added 19 points as Mt. San Jacinto (6-9) added a quality win to their resume picking up a 90-85 win over 8th ranked West Hills (8-2) in non conference action.
