Saddleback Tournament

In the opening game of the Saddleback Tournament, Noah Saunders had 22 points and 7 rebounds, and Nico Gonzalez added 18 points and 5 rebounds as Cuesta (6-7) moved into the semi finals with a 74-63 win over Long Beach (8-6). Jamiu Akinbile had 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and Artis Parris added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Vikings who shot 31% from the floor in first round action.

In the second match up of the day, Wonder Smith had 24 points and made four three pointers and Robert McCoy added 18 points and 5 rebounds as 2nd ranked San Diego (14-2) advanced to the semi finals with a 82-80 win over Irvine Valley (8-6). Jake Linsky had 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Aaron Harris added 16 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds in the loss for the Lasers. The Knights will face Cuesta in the semi finals tomorrow while Irvine Valley will face off against Long Beach in the consolation bracket.

In other action, Jude Agbasi had 13 points and Michael Kalu added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists as Canyons (5-7) advanced to the next round with a 82-71 win over Los Angeles Trade Tech (2-7). Anotnio Monroe made seven three pointers and had 27 points and Maurice West added 15 points and 16 rebounds in the loss for the Beavers.

In the final game of the evening, Shawn Stith had 15 points and 4 rebounds, and Anthony Naimie added 12 points and 16 rebounds as Saddleback (7-6) built up a 30 point halftime lead and cruised to a 88-50 first round win over Mira Costa (4-8). Tre Morgan led the Spartans in scoring with 12 points and added 7 rebounds in the loss. Saddleback will face Canyons in the semi finals tomorrow, while Mira Costa will take on Los Angeles Trade Tech in the consolation bracket.

Los Angeles Southwest Classic

In first round action at the Los Angeles Southwest Classic, Keandre Broussard had 13 points and Xaiver Gunter added 12 points and 6 rebounds as Santa Ana (7-4) beat Los Angeles Valley 69-58 to advance to the semi finals of the tournament. Cristian Hodge had 11 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for Los Angeles Valley (2-9) in the loss.

In other action, Kenyatta Louder had 32 points and 7 rebounds and Anthony Rios added 17 points and 10 rebounds as Rio Hondo (2-8) edged Oxnard 89-85 to move into the semi finals. Jakari McClain had 33 points and 5 rebounds, and Al Stubbs added 14 points in the loss for Oxnard (0-6).

In the third matchup of the day, Malik Skillern had 15 points and Kupaa Harrison added 14 points and 4 rebounds as Orange Coast (6-5) cruised past Hancock 78-57 to advance to the semi finals. Shane Carney and Spirit Ricks each had 11 points in the loss for Allan Hancock (6-5). Orange Coast will face Rio Hondo in the semi finals tomorrow, while Hancock will take on Santa Barbara in the consolation bracket.

In the finale of the night, D’Lano Beckles had 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists and Deric Daniels added 14 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds as Los Angeles Southwest (4-6) slipped past Santa Barbara 72-70 to advance to the semi finals. Dejon Jackson had 21 points and 17 rebounds, and Donald Grant added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for Santa Barbara (1-9). Los Angeles Southwest will face Santa Ana in the semi finals tomorrow, while Santa Barbara will take on Los Angeles Valley in the consolation bracket.

West Valley Tournament

In first round action, Steven Daily had 20 points and Victor Mijas added 15 points as 3rd ranked Diablo Valley (7-3) advanced to the semi finals with 71-57 win over 11th ranked Monterey (9-5).

In the second game of the day, Matt McAndrews had 23 points and Deangelo Blackwell added 13 points as Foothill (8-5) crushed Solano (4-5) in first round action 84-52. Foothill advances to the semi finals and will face 3rd ranked Diablo Valley while Monterey will take on Solano in the consolation bracket.

In the third game of the night, Bryce Thompson had 16 points and 5 assists and Richard Oryem added 14 points as Ohlone (7-5) picked up a 76-73 victory over Hartnell (6-4) to advance to the semi finals tomorrow against West Valley. Hartnell will face Cerro Coso in the consolation bracket after suffering a loss against the Vikings.

In the night cap, West Valley (7-6) cruised to a 84-64 win over Cerro Coso (1-5). The Vikings move into the semi finals tomorrow against Ohlone while Cerro Coso will face Hartnell.

Kris Kringle Invitational

In first round action, Salafai Osiomalo had 17 points and 7 rebounds, and Keith Dickerson added 16 points and 14 rebounds as Canada advanced to the semi finals with a 87-72 win over Los Medanos.

In the second game of the day, Calvin Fletcher had 31 points and Gerard Andrus added 19 points as 13th ranked Feather River (10-3) picked up a 87-81 win over 14th ranked Mendocino in first round action. Jamarlin Jackson had 31 points and Larry Bryson added 16 points in the loss for Mendocino (8-2). Feather River will take on Canada in the semi finals and 14th ranked Mendocino will take on Los Medanos in the consolation bracket.

In the third game of the tournament, Jayden Hampton had 18 points and Joe Fons added 17 points as Napa (3-6) cruised past Redwoods 89-68 to move into the semi finals. Jordan Smith had 18 points and 4 rebounds, and Bryce Mateer added 16 points in the loss for Redwoods (1-10).

In the final game of the night, Skylar Chavez had 22 points as 12th ranked Santa Rosa (5-4) knocked off Chabot 75-61 to move into the semi finals against Napa tomorrow. Jordan Gilmente had 22 points in the loss for Chabot (1-9). The Gladiators will face Redwoods in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

Orange, CA – (11) Santiago Canyon 114 Cuyamaca 49

Rodney Henderson had 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Shaun Maeder and Jacob Garcia each added 18 points as 11th ranked Santiago Canyon (12-3) cruised past Cuyamaca 114-49. Erick Ruiz and Frankie Gutierrez each had 10 points in the loss for Cuyamaca (0-10).

Sacramento, CA – Lassen 70 American River 58

Cypress, CA – (1) Citrus 98 Cypress 73

Jeremy Smith had 26 points and 8 assists and Andrew Ammann added 14 points and 3 rebounds as top ranked Citrus (12-2) had a big second half and cruised to a 98-73 win over Cypress (4-7) in non conference action Thursday evening. Siah Mack had 18 points and Brennon Palmer added 13 points in the loss for the Chargers.

San Marcos, CA – (15) Palomar 73 Southwestern 70 (OT)

Matt Meyers had 19 points and 8 rebounds, and Anthony Brewer added 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists as 15th ranked Palomar (8-4) edged Southwestern 73-70 in overtime to pick up the non conference victory. Quincy Ferebee had 19 points and 9 assists, and Jose Serrano added 18 points and 14 rebounds in the loss for Southwestern (3-10).
