Teams: (15) Shasta (4-3), Redwoods (0-6), Southwestern Oregon CC, Simpson JV.
Matchups: The Redwoods Tournament will be a four team event that will take place for two days in Northern California. Two California junior colleges, an Oregon junior college and a junior varsity team will take part in the event. In day one action Shasta (4-3) will face off against Southwestern Oregon Community College. 15th ranked Shasta comes into the game on a three game winning streak as the Knights won their own event picking up wins against Columbia, Santa Rosa and Cabirllo to bring home the championship. The Knights have four players averaging in double figures led by Hunter Johnson through 7 games. The sophomore is averaging 14.0 points and 8.6 rebounds per contest through seven games. Blake Trent is second in scoring, as the sophomore is averaging 13.9 points per contest this season. Zach Lowe (12.4 points and 4.0 rebounds) and Kellen Gerig (10.4 points and 5.6 rebounds) have played well for the Knights this season. Jordan Spaschak has been solid averaging 7.7 points, and 6.4 assists this season.
In the second match up Redwoods (0-6) will look to pick up their first victory on the season against the Simpson JV. The Corsairs have one player averaging in double digits as Dunnell Stafford has been solid this season for Redwoods. The freshman is averaging 23.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest this season. Stafford has scored 30 or more points three times this season and will look to lead the Corsairs to their first victory of the season over the Simpson JV. Tyrice Paul (8.8 points) has also contributed for the Corsairs this season through 6 games.
On the second day, Shasta will take on the Simpson JV and Redwoods will face Southwestern Oregon Community College.
